sell all of your big items and only bring back clothes and personnal items. If you are super rich your best bet is to rent a container and send it back by boat.

im mainly sending back my computer stuff and maybe some car care stuff. I'm mostly moving stuff in my room.

Just pack it in boxes, and ship over what can't be checked in as luggage.

hehe, the thing is that i'd hate to throw away my Corsair 800D after only getting it last month (the internals transfered over from my old thermaltake armor case after 5 years) Can't get 800D in HK at what I paid here I believe.

but man i just found out my Z2300 cant jump voltage, I may have to get a 200watt+ transformer for it in HK or sell it. My Driving force GT cant jump voltage too but I can buy another adapter.

but yeah gotta move my books as well and lots of clothing. Relocating back to HK wasn't even an idea at the beginning of the year.

Z2300 is 200W RMS, and 400W peak. If you were to plug it into a 200W stepdown converter (which is what you need, not a transformer), it would blow up in an instant.

A 400 watt step down converter would be roughly the size (and weight) of a small car battery.

and a new set of Z2300 is probably cheaper than a 400w converter in HK

Unless you have furniture or large items, you don't need a moving company. Just pack it up and ship by your courier of choice. It'll be cheaper and quicker.

it'll need a digital tv tuner box for sure. As for pal... no idea, havent checked, and havent even checked if it'll do 220v, but we're selling our flat in hk with our 55" LCD TV so pretty much an extra 48" wont hurt to have since we'll be down 1 TV.

You won't be needing PAL, unless you plan to watch broadcast TV instead of digital TV for some reason

^ brought a CDN SHARP LCD with NTSC to HK, tried 4 different STB (Ei8ht, Olevia, cheapo DSC STB, HKBN), none of them works, I keep getting that black/white out of proportion screen, but CDN xbox360 and costco DVD player were fine.
Same thing happened to my cousin's Samsung LCD from US. We went to Ap Liu Street at least 10 times, no one there could figure it out.

You sure will say "it is digital the input signal shouldn't matter, are you stupid or what", but that was my personal experience with NTSC only TV in HK. Ending up I sold it to those junk collectors for $1,500hkd

I wouldn't say you're stupid. Are those STBs you tried for HDTV or standard?

Ei8ht supports 1080p
Olevia, HKBN, and cheapo one supports up to 1080i

HKBN actually sent a technician to help us out, tried all HDMI ports, component cables, RCA cables, 3 different HKBN STB, and he gave up. PC, xbox360, DVD player, digital cameras connections were fine except TV =/

Newer NTSC LCD TVs could be different, never tried.

lol i may look into buying a smaller set as I have to cater for 2 towers and 3 monitors inside the small space of HK rooms.
