Burnett Secondary?
Nothing on News1130 yet, aside from a tweet that said:
"Suggestions students not being dismissed from Burnett Secondary in #Richmond News1130 checking on police incidents in area"

Good ol' Burnett.
It used to be all portables when I went there. They finally finished the school by my senior year. I hope everyone is safe.

Lindfield and Lindsay Road.. hahahahaha. Sussex square apartments. My old hood. Richmond's ghetto for sure. $90,000 apartment with a $90,000 benz = ghetto fabulous.
figured i'd find an RS thread on this :p
according to my friend (she goes to burnett), there was a hostage in some complex between burnett and mckay. police all around the area, and swat vehicles too. i live about 5 minutes away and i could hear/see a chopper (air one?) going back and forth while i was outside washing my car
apparently it's done now, students have been released to go home
didn't involve the school or anybody at the school, but given that the situation was in the nearby area, police/teachers were being cautious
another short article:

Saw an undercover suv with a giant blue buss(swat?) not the white rv looking buss behind it followed by a marked squad car flying down granvile towards railway. Guess I know why now.

Everyone from Burnett should be alright. We all got released around 3:40.
The 410 bus came into our school since the route towards No 3 was probably blocked off lol

I joined when I was 14.. So Grade 9. Is there a problem with that? I find that there are many RSers my age when I meet them up for sales and trades. Tons of kids on the internet nowadays so it wouldn't be hard for them to stumble upon RS as it is a well known forum in the GVA with a good BST Forum.
I mean as long as younger members don't make immature and stupid posts its all good right?

news article said ERT. assuming rcmp has an ERT too? or maybe the VPD were called down. it is an emergency situation after all
also why the hate on the younger members? we all gotta start somewhere. i thought this was an automotive enthusiast website. didn't know you had to be a certain age to be an automotive enthusiast

When you're in a lockdown, you're not supposed to send out messages to the outside public. The school is supposed to handle that.
The problem is that we have 1000+ kids texting their parents. Parents find out there's a madman on the loose and a huge panic results. This aggravates the situation and can seriously screw up the police's work.
Posting after the incident is a much better idea.

Yes our teacher told us that, but only briefly, then she was cool with us doing anything basically LOL (maybe because she's only 24). I guess this lockdown is different from the usual ones because it was happening in the neighbourhood and not actually in our school. Nobody (in my classroom at least) called their parents but it's really hard not to go on our phones and laptops for a whole hour. It was all online anyway because people in the neighbourhood were already spamming Facebook.

Ya I agree, the more students publicize the event, the more parents/relatvies etc. Get involved and start getting in the way. It's like lindsay lohan trying to get to a club but can't, because papparazi keep harassing her
