Owner of said Izakaya asked me to invite anyone & everyone for their Closed Opening Celebration. Everyone's invited to enjoy Free Food and Free Alcohol!

G-be is a new Izakaya that recently opened at Grand Villa Casino down in Burnaby. It belongs to the same group that operates restaurants such as Gyoza King, G-Men, Nanchuu, Gyo-O & Chicco.

I was at La Brasserie's 1 year anniversary event, it was closed from 5-8 or something, then open to the public for free food and drinks. Is this something like that?

One last thing, Have you guys heard of G-Be before?

Went to Gyoza King for lunch and they gave out coupons for $10 lunch specials for this place and I gave it a try. Food was ok, but only because I had a coupon. I doubt I'd go back at full price, didn't appreciate being charged for tea either.

While it's just a guess, I believe the owner is chinese and is probably affiliated with the chinese restaurant next door. When I was there, some guy who I'd perceive was the owner and most of the servers spoke chinese to each other. And it was odd to have chinese dim sum on their lunch menu.

There were SO MANY chinese girls there that would grab 5-6 pieces and stock up their plate. There was this late 30's/early 40's white guy there with his family and he used his fucking HANDS to just grab food and put it into his mouth. I felt so fucking disgusted by people's behaviour last night.

Well, I've been to opening parties and anniversaries before, standing room is actually usually a non issue. But even when there were half the people invited as this, i've seen double the kitchen staff. I felt really bad for the staff. I think I saw 3 guys in the kitchen? Depending on how pro they are, 3 staff isn't likely to be able to handle a full house on a saturday night, let alone a packed party.

If they owners are from the same group as g-men, nanchuu and gyoza king, wouldn't they have done open house parties before?

Whenever we have parties with open bar and food at our dealership, its so civilized because they are actually potential clients and past clients mingling. We won't put a sign at the door and welcome everyone in.

First off, I'd like to thank ecchiecchi for the invites!

Secondly it was a pretty fun event, although it could've been a bit more organized and having more food out there wouldn't have hurt ;) but free is free and I can't complain. Had a few drinks with some RS members, so it was all good.

Their were like 6 small plates of beef and 2 or 3 huge plates of beef slices, all of which was gone within seconds lol..
