Awesome game! sat a couple rows behind the Argos bench for much less than the asking price of tickets. Couldn't believe such good tickets for the last game at Empire were going for so cheap, I expected it to be sold out and asking prices over ticket prices. Guys behind us got their tickets for $10 each! far less than the $70 ticket price.

Looking forward to a proper stadium though. Getting food and merchandise took way too long at Empire each time I went.

Edit: 5 losses then one win and a loss right after. Empire Field curse or something. Most of the wins were out of town games. Good thing BC Place is home now.

The stadium was named after Neil J. The last time the Lions won the Grey Cup at home was in the 82nd Gey Cup. BC Lions vs the Baltimore Stallions at BC Place Stadium. First time ever the Grey Cup was in danger of being won by a Yankee based team. Lui won the game with a field goal with zero seconds on the clock. 4 field goals by the master that game.


Baltimore's all-star running back, Mike Pringle had only 71-yards rushing and fullback Robert Drummond had 38-yards rushing for a total of 109 yards. The Lions rushing tandem of running back Cory Philpot and fullback Sean Millington combined for 194-yards rushing, with Philpot having 17 carries, for 109-yards rushing and Millington having 13 carries, for 85-yards rushing. Furthermore, Philpot and Millington gained those yards against an impressive Baltimore defence that was exempt from following the CFL's import rule and was made up solely of American players. There is a common perception that such a team would be stronger than one which was required to have Canadian players.

It was a brutal game. 42-10 loss. Pretty even up till second half.

That prospect was made more worrisome with a number of injuries picked up in the Hamilton, in particular an ankle injury to quarterback Travis Lulay. He left the game in the second half after another player rolled into his ankle.

"It's just sore,” Lulay said. “I think I'll be alright. I'm confident I'll be okay. I don't know if it got rolled up on, but it was pretty sore at the end of the game. We'll get treatment and heal up this week.

Running back Andrew Harris, wide receiver Akeem Foster, fullback/special teamer Rolly Lumbala and long snapper Dan McCullough all were nursing injuries after and will be assessed when the team returns to Vancouver today. None of the injuries are considered major or catastrophic.

“They played physical. You’ve got to give them credit," Lulay said.
