When will these guys learn. You want to bring down a building you talk to the 9/11 Truthers. They know everything about building demolition.

They needed the explosives for something "else". jk.

I think a 5 year old kid can tell you this was a bad idea.

why da fuck would he jump out? he is safer staying inside the machine

slowride
06-29-2011, 01:56 PM
WOW! I knew from the thread title that the building was falling onto that excavator... Never would have expected that guy to jump out tho!! The FOP would have done a significant reduction of any damage to him, if he had stayed inside the cab! Wow.... darwin takes another one?

jeff19
06-29-2011, 01:58 PM
prolly thought he could avoid the crash coming down lol. if he had jumped out as soon as the building started falling, he might have been able to get away

No sheering here genius, you can see the bottom floor pancaked because the pillars were severed as did the the buildings on 911... also the top floors in this case fell forward and to the side... not collapse free fall speed!

What can you expect from someone who looks at the world with rose coloured glasses.

LOL, I posted it as a joke and you actually come out and make an analysis of how it fell. No need to sign your name Arash - everyone knew the minute they read it was you. What a fucking loser.

Sure it was a joke, I signed my name so that you wouldnt start bull shitting like saying sheering made the 911 building collapse... you're the loser.

Is there a story to go with this? Why were they demolishing that building in the first place? It looked unfinished.

Human instinct told him to get out and run when he might have had a better chance in the cab. Much like the Titanic wouldn't have sunk if Murdoch had struck the iceberg head on instead of desperately trying to avoid it. People in the bow would have died and considerable damage would have been done but when you only have moments to think, who would choose that option if they believe they can still avoid it all together.

As for the operator's expectations of what would happen - I'm sure he knew it was very risky but by the looks of the video this comes from a poor nation and I assume he thought the risks were worth it when it means putting food on the table. Those in charge probably knew the risks as well and felt saving money was worth it over the risk of losing a lowly machine operator. It's not like the family of the operator could afford to sue. If this were to have happened in a 1st world country where there are rules and laws in place and they went this route anyways, then I would call it stupidity.

He was dead from the moment they came up with that plan to bring the building down.

Not likely he would have lived if he stayed in the cabin either.

I think there would have been a chance if he had that shit on reverse (or forward) assuming those things can do a 360 anyways...
Giver a good push and accelerrrrrrr out as far as possible.. lol

That guy clearly didnt think this one through =/... darwin?

Darwinism would be seeing an operator/owner in a country like Canada opt to not utilize the proper equipment available, ignore the various safety regulations, ignore the employment protections provided to the operator, etc and witness this occur. In some places in the world, like where I assume this video was shot, the smartest, safest, lawful choices aren't an option.

Like I said on the previous page: working in a third world country (which I assume is the situation here) the risks are worth it when its a matter of being able to put food on the table or starving. His bosses likely knew of safer techniques to bring down a building but opted for a cheaper route, not caring for the well being of the operator.

I have a heavy duty mechanic buddy who has worked in third world countries and has seen operations where the employer has all the safety equipment and proper tools for the job locked away while the employees are left make due with whatever they can find or adapt to the job. This is because the employer doesn't want his equipment broken or stolen, costing him money.
