In Vancouver not many people use kijiji.
CL is by far the best place to post.
But, if you want to cover all grounds just copy and paste the posting everywhere. Though, i've never been successful using usedvancouver. Usually just CL and RS

ive found that kijiji is great for pets. asides from that, craigslist/rs is the way to go.

OP why are you asking this and why did you sign up to RS? I'm only asking since this is your first post.

^cause he's wondering where he could get the most exposure for his items, and because RS has a huge number of members most of which have likely sold used items before.

first post or not it's just a question, aren't forums for answering questions like these?!

edit... and to answer, rs/cl.

^ There has been so many :troll: posts lately by new members that's why I'm asking. You don't have to be part of RS to know CL is the best site around right now and he didn't even mention it.

I actually dont have good experience with CL, as i always email the seller with no replies to anything.........whilst i get prompt replies from kijiji or usedvan.

It really is dependent on what you're selling. Some things do better on CL, some do better on RS. Others do better on kijiji. I've never had any luck with usedvancouver, personally. RS can have the typical lowballers, but you get those on CL and KJ too.

CL is better in Vancouver, KJ seems to be better in the Okanagan.

What you're trying to sell may have an impact on your luck, as well as where you're trying to sell it.

As with any sales involving people you probably don't know, try to meet up in populated, well lit areas at normal hours, during the day.

90% of the items that I post on CL, RS sell on CL first. It just has more traffic for buyers!

CL and other car forums, depending on the itm.

Anyone else remember the days of picking up a Buy&Sell on Thursdays to find what you were looking for or to see if they printed your ad correctly?

I lol'd at the original post when he didn't even mention CL.

How do you know about Kijiji and usedvan (I never even heard of this one before)
and not know Craigslist??

Craigslist = Best

common sense... post on a site that gets the most traffic.

I've never even heard of Usedvan.

off topic but some things are annoying about craigslist
today I was looking for some wheels and I entered
"4x100" worked perfect
but something like "15x7.5" will turn up no results cos it ends up searching for "15x7."
or "4/100", "15" wheels" etc. will also fail

I'm sure there are some wheels out there that I can't find because of the shitty search engine and the variations in how people make their ads

craigslist
kijiji
usednanaimo
revscene sometimes for car things

I list each item on all of them.

I find it strange that usedvancouver.com hasn't taken off in Van.

Usedvictoria is used WAY more than craigslist here in Victoria and I've had waaay more success buying and selling with it.

From what I've noticed:

Island - usedxxx and kijiji
GVRD - craigslist
Kelowna and Kamloops - craigslist and castanet
everywhere else - kijiji

I agree. I get totally different search results when i type in 24-70 and 24-70mm. they need to improve on it.

When I was selling my Honda, Usedvictoria provided higher quality interest.
Responses from Craigslist were full of lowballers (I don't know how anyone could make an offer on a used car that they've never actually seen in person) and flakers (no-shows).

i usually stick to RS and VCC. i only use CL if there aren't any takers through the forums.

Mostly RS coz I can search the buyers/sellers and see their buy/sell raitings and pots they made. It made it safer I guess.

I have bought a few things from CL but I don't think I would sell anything there hearing some of these stories (anyone still remember that guy crash into landsone coz some buyer from CL ran away with goods?). So yea no selling on CL for me.

Craigslist, honda-tech, and g2ic.com. Sometimes ebay when im in the states.

CL

You just need to know what are the common words that people type in the search button and go from there. CL is much easier to sell than RS. There's just higher traffic.
I don't think feedback is necessary. Having feedback will reflect in higher prices as there are more "information" available. Information is money.

I've sold many used things locally, and I never even knew about UsedVancouver...

If the item is less in demand and needs a bigger audience, I put it up on eBay.

If the item is high in demand and can fetch the same price or more locally, I put it on Craigslist.
