What are some good restaurants downtown with an awesome view?

While not "good" by some peoples standards, The Boathouse, Milestones, and what used to be the Pacific Crab Company have great views of English Bay. There's also Cloud 9 but...good? Not really. :D

I second this... Went when they had a steak and lobster coupon....food was alright... Not astounding but a certain level of quality is expected of a high class restaurant... View was awesome... Pretty much any spot in the restaurant guarantes a good view

I'm gonna say The Observatory at Grouse. WHOLE view of vancouver.
Its not downtown but if you have $$$$ they provide helicopter transport from downtown to the mountain.

The Grouse Nest - Though it's now called the Obervatory - at the top of Grouse Mountain. If you call to make a reso be sure and ask for a window.

I would avoid Top of Vancouver in Harbour Centre. I worked there for 2 years, food is disgusting and very crappy ambiance. Caters to tourists. Let's just say it doesn't have the best hygiene standards, food quality, etc.

If you really wanna go up there, go there between lunch and dinner time. Go up and have a coffee or beer. Coffee has free refills. Will cost less than a ticket to the observatory. You can walk around and check out the view of Vancouver.

The patio at Mahony & Sons Public House at the new Convention Centre gives you amazing views of the North Shore mountains and Stanley Park. Pretty decent food too.

I'm planning to go to one of the revolving restaurants, but I know there's only two in Van (I think). So between cloud 9 and Vancouver revolving restaurant, which one would be a better choice?

Revolving restaurant has a little more selections IIRC, but in terms of ambience and view, I'd prefer Cloud 9. Just my opinion.

Teahouse in Stanley park has a nice view of the water looking into the sunset. Prices are fair, food is not bad

It's the first thing you see on your right as you get to the top via the gondola
