Few days ago they shut down for maintenance from few hours. Now my shaw cable internet is reduced from 12 Mb/s to less than 1Mb/s.

Anyone else have the same problem? Can't even watch youtube or stream anything.

Curr-Avrg DL: 0.9Mb/s
Tech Support: No clue when back to normal.

They reset the hubsite few days ago but it didn't work, there are still packet loss on the line ( slow speed on your computer ), they are changin a few things at the hubsite from 1am to 4am today i believe, hopefully that will solve it.
Call in and ask to check "dx3vt", it should be on their outage page, hope this help

I can technically use it, but it is better to leave it by a window for best reception (another problem with living in a THE VILLAGE - reception is sketchy), and leave it plugged in since wifi tethering drains the fuck out of the battery :)

It's actually slower than the true download speed using multiple streams. The highest I've seen it go is 11 Mbps. When I get my home connection, it'll be hard capped at 8 Mbps :okay:

TBH I don't know if they are going to cap me or not. I purposefully signed for a more expensive "tethering" plan, but there is still the vague and arbitrary "fair use policy". I'm not sure if they are going to call at any time telling me that my use exceeds "fair use" whatever that is.

I haven't gotten my full bill yet, but I expect it to be at least 100 GB I think. We'll see!

Wired internet will be more stable, and in my experience of downloading 400-500GB of TV shows per month, has a pretty high limit :)

PCCW is truly the most horrible, rotten company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. But the service they actually provide is very good, for a good price, so I stick with them. You just have to be very careful dealing with them, as they will scam you in ways that are completely illegal in most countries. (verbal contracts, trying to trick you into signing contract extensions, etc)

People that don't always get the advertised speed for example if you are on extreme and don't always get 25 mbp/s, keep in mind if you have a router and someone else in the house uses the internet it will decrease your overall speed.

If you call in, you test your connection direct to modem and get slow speeds. They'll check if there is saturation in the area. In some cases like this they'll book a tech out for you with a laptop so he can test it as well. You won't get the run around.

i'm on the old shaw nitro package which is 100 Mbps and i've been quite happy with my speeds. i have yet to bitch or moan about it either
