Formula Drift ~ Round 5 THROWDOWN
July 22/23 12noon-8pm
Evergreen Speedway (14405 179th Ave SE, Monroe WA, 98272)

Evergreen Speedway is the oldest track on the circuit and was originally built as a horse-racing track. Located in Monroe, WA, Evergreen Speedway, is only a short distance from Seattle.

The Northwest fans are some of the most die-hard drift fans in the nation. The energy and excitement is often compared to that of Irwindale and the original “House of Drift.” The event’s headline moniker, “Throwdown,” lives up to it’s name as drivers push their vehicles to the limits of the track’s banking and tight transitions through the course resulting in one of the most exciting action-packed events of the season.

Everyone be cautious when parking your car (specifically the FREE main gravel lot). I have heard numerous cases of broken-in vehicles, stolen items, etc. Think twice if you plan to bring your baby, it might not be worth it or pay for parking close to the stadium.

Pros: cheaper i believe and a lot non-professionals (although really good) go all out so they can qualify, it's exciting as well.

Definetly go on Saturday.....watch out for cops stationed as you leave. Saw so many people pulled over after the event last year with their radar guns.

The pay lot is $20 from what I remember.

The free gravel lot is okay IF you park closer to the front gates/main road. Once you start going further back, you're taking your chances. I'm driving the wife's car down and I'm contemplating paying this year.

Here's a map of the venue.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v476/EM1SiR/map.png

Green boxes is where it's probably best to park in the free lot.
Blue boxes is where it's okay to park in the free lot.
Red boxes are danger zone haha.

The yellow box is the pay lot, as I labelled. The "clean washrooms" are outside of the track so you can only use them BEFORE you enter the event. There are no in and out priveleges and the washrooms inside the track are nasty! If you do have to drop a deuce, I suggest doing it prior to entering the event or in a port-o-potty. Believe me they're cleaner than the actual washrooms hahaha.

Yes you can buy tickets at the gate. But from what I can recall from last year it was $28 at the gate.

Long, tiring but very fun day! The "free lot" is no longer free, it's $5 but they have security there now. Also the pay lot was actually $10 and not $20. This year they were allowing in-and-out previleges as well. Ah well, until next year!

Just chillin' in our hotel room. Tomorrow is another long day.....of shopping! Hahaha...

My first FD event and it definitely lived up to the hype. Loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of the drivers, talking to you and putting on a show. Weather was amazing as well. I took a lot of pics but they need to be uploaded, mostly amateur shots lol.

BTW thanks to everyone who gave a heads up about any info in regards to this event/venue! Next year those who didnt go definitely should keep it in their calender

Matsuda

yeah what's really cool is you can get into the pits and watch them work and check out the cars. After they're done drifting the drivers go up in the stands and watch the event with you! that's pretty damn cool!
