Worst is paying the meter for parking, then getting a ticket after the meter expires. If you're gonna get a ticket anyway, might as well not put money in the meter to begin with!

That's why I only pay by phone now. Not only do I not have to carry change, it'll send me a text when it's running out, and I can call in to top it up if I need over the phone. And I've found that they never say a thing about remetering - I've parked at a spot for like 5 hours when it said 2 hour limit on the meter.

I've tried that before via pay by phone, pay for more time after the 2hour limit and it wouldn't let me because of the 2hr limit.

Frick, I've always wanted to sign up for Verrus, but never got around to doing it. I'm signing up right now.

I haven't tried paying more than the 2 hr limit in one go, but when I call back to add more time, it's ok.

It took me maybe 5 minutes of my time the first time I set it up. After that - each call takes less than a minute. It'll remember your licence plate and credit card when you call, all you have to do is add the 5 digit number of the meter, and how long you want to park for. It's exact as well - if you want to park for 10 minutes at $2/hr, it'll only charge you $0.33 - no service charge.

Yea that's what I did, would not let me add more time after I called back, gave some voice prompt about 2hr limit and my vehicle was already registered at that spot for the time limit already recently. This was a spot downtown.

shit, they must've changed it. I think I last did it a a month or two ago downtown, and I didn't have a problem.

I use to always pay for meter parking via cellphone. It wouldn't allow me to pay for more time if the limit was 2 hours. If I knew I was going to park longer I would simply try and find some change use it and then pay by phone for the remainder. Just jot down the meter number before you leave your car.

Nice try, you'll still get a ticket b/c they have a bylaw that says you can not stay at a "broken" meter.

I avoid anywhere with parking meters.
I'm still glad anywhere I go to in Richmond still offer free parking.
I don't care about you haters, but I still like Richmond despite all the C-Lai drivers.

I love richmond because how the roads are constructed unlike places like surrey, but the drivers really piss you off around number 3 road.... C-lais always try to hit me everytime.. i swear to god!
