Ever tried to collect Canadian Tire Money?

When I get my Canadian Tire Money, I donate it.

This guy saved it all up!!!

Quote:

Edmonton’s Brian McPherson spends fortune in Canadian Tire money to buy riding lawn mower

Most of us have Canadian Tire money stashed in our junk drawers, but few of us can purchase anything of significance with it.
This week, Edmonton's Brian McPherson, 29, exchanged his stack of "Canada's unofficial second currency" for a riding lawn mower.
The cashier looked shocked at the bundles of bills he handed her. He had $1,053 in Canadian Tire cash, collected over the course of 15 years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUNG0oz4PyE

The impressive purchase was an intentional one. McPherson had been planning to purchase a mower with Canadian Tire money since he was a teenager.
When McPherson bought a hockey stick from the store at the age of 14, he decided that he would take the 10 cents in Canadian Tire money he received and start saving for the most expensive thing in the store.
"I thought it'd be a good idea to save up all the money and buy what at that time was the most expensive thing in the store, which was a riding lawn mower," McPherson told the Toronto Sun.
McPherson figures he had to spend close to $20,000 to collect the Canadian Tire cash.
"It's one of those things I set out to do and that's what I told everybody I was going to do, so to get something else would be silly," McPherson told CTV. "I just wanted to follow through with what I was doing."

I am pretty sure that because it took this long... everytime he needs to buy something thats available at canadian tire he would go there.

I am pretty sure he didn't blow 20k to get 1k in canadian tire money.

I saved up almost $200 in paper in about 10 years and spent it all on LED Christmas lights a few years ago. Now when I shop there they won't give me anything unless I use cash or sign up for their credit card so I don't go there as much as I use to

Yep. I used to have lots of Canadian Tire money cause I lived in a small town and it was one of a few places to shop. Yet now I have $0 cause they don't give it out for CC purchases.

How so? I've returned lots of things I shouldn't have been able to, and even gone in weeks after buying something to get them to refund me the difference between what I paid and the new sale price. Never had an issue.

I've never broken a tool though, so I am interested in how their lifetime guarantees are.

I worked there when I was 17 (my first job) for 2 years.
Their return policies are a joke and they'll take anything back.
And their lifetime guarantees are great. You bring in your broken mastercraft tool, they'll give you replacement on the spot.

I love their return policy! I use that place like a tool rental.

Clean it with a little WD40, back into the original packaging and off we go.

it's decent

you have the bring the entire set back for them to replace with the same or equivalent ...

i bent a wrench once and had to bring the whole 15 piece set down for them to give me another 15 set piece

they wouldn't just pull one from a new set and give it to me
