I'm all in to volunteer like I did last year!

And I'll apologize for not being able to make the Spring meet to volunteer... drank a bit too much the night before and didn't wake up in time.

Am more responsible now and would be all in to volunteer if you guys would still like my help :alone:

If we vounteer can we still park with our clubs/friends? And will we have time to walk aroudn for photos?

I remember the last couple the volunteers cars weren't parked with the rest :alone:

Jgresch: yes on both queries.

There will be a volunteers/ staff meeting prior to the meet. Date is tba at this moment. Probably at a Tim hortons or bucks.

I can help set up the booth/audio gear or whatever else needs to be put together, but I'm hoping to bugger off and film the cars rolling in once that starts happening. Not sure if that's of any help?

Tossing up Queensbourough as a pre-meet location? Note that depending on the day of the pre-meet if it isn't the morning of the meet itself, I may not be able to make it as I work until 6.

While you volunteered for 2 meets (Nitemarket Summer 2010)and Spring, you have failed to follow through on the Spring meet as mentioned by yourself. Understandably, you are young and llike to party. I did see you at the Spring meet and during the meet itself thus you were present at the meet. It would've been more forgivable IF you have approached the admin and volunteer teams then and offered your apology, and not months afterwards. Upon further review and from your peers, performance at Summer 2010 meet was sub par.

though this is a volunteer position, the admin and owners board expects dedicated service, just like any volunteer position anywhere. If you vouch yourself as a volunteer, we would like none other than your best efforts. It's only fair to the other hard-working volunteers. Volunteer positions on RS events opens up and leads to the other volunteer positions, such as forum moderator position in the future. You may ask What's the big deal? REVscene is a registered business and volunteering can count towards volunteer experiences on resumes when applying for jobs, and we will not vouch for poor work ethics.

unfortunately, with this said you will be disqualified as a volunteer candidate for this meet. However, this will not bar you from volunteering at future meets (if there are any more), and you are welcomed to apply again in the future.

I hope you can understand why this decision was made from an administrative stand-point, and take this as contructive criticism.

However, there will not be an exception or appeal to this matter. This does not bar you from attending the meet itself and enjoying it, and I do hope you will continue to be on RS and grow along with the site. See you at the meet.

I'll have to check with the venue to see if we can get in before the day of the meet, to start some floor planning and markings with tape/cones. That is TBA.

Thank you for volunteering. I much rather have you as a dedicated videographer for the entire event, or most of it. If you can do that it would be appreciated. Free reign to move about and video whichever you think that highlights the meet.

duties for this summer meet:

1. traffic
2. crowd control
3. sponsors support for Autowest group and OpenRoad group (initial setup)
4. RS booth support (initial setup/take down)
5. RS ambassadors

traffic and crowd control and the most important for the incoming flow, parking etc. A majority of the volunteer staff team will be doing this as their primary. Sponsor support teams will act when needed.

I'll go over majority of the plan during the upcoming meeting.

any questions, feel free to email me instead as I haven't been able to check RS lately.

sorry for coming late to the party tommy.

right now i can't say for certain if i can continue the duties i've had prior to this meet (trust me i do want to continue, both because i enjoy it and because it's always good to have someone with the experience in a leading position) but my store's inventory is the week leading up to the meet, and there is a chance it might run over into the weekend. my manager said he will try his best to give me the sunday off, but nothing is for sure.

so i wont know until probably thurs or friday next week.

as i said, i do want to lead the parking guys but i can't 100% say 'yes i will be there' until later next week.

i will try to make the meeting as well, but that is one of the inventory nights. if you'd like i'd be more than willing to meet up at your convenience to go over the things you plan to go over on the friday night, tommy.

Morgan: no worries, I understand. Whichever the case, if you are able to make it I would like for you to handle or coordinate traffic, and if not possible there's always a back up.

I'll get volunteer packages done, hopefully before Friday's meeting. I know it will be a bit later on This coming Friday the 19th, but it is for the benefit that people will be able to come. I don't expect the meeting to take more than 1hr at most.

I will not be attending the meet this year as our SoundsGood IASCA western finals are on the same day in Coquitlam. This will be one of the first RS summer meets I will have missed in 11 years. I feel terrible about it. :(

thanks to all the hardwork of volunteers and mods alike, we had a pretty successful meet despite ups and downs.

next meet there will be these new implementations:

1. clubs crews will be asked to pm/email numbers attending. RSVP deadline will be set, and there can be no changes after that deadline. No excuses, no exceptions.

2. clubs crews will have specific times to roll i, which will be announced. If they miss the roll in time as a group or partially, they will forfeit their RSVP and reservations to other clubs.

3. zones will be set out with high visability flags for each crew.

these will be implemented by next meet to help manage things better.
