Yes there are, I just didn't list them.
Next week the EQ40 intermediate is on sale as well, I forgot how much though. A bit cheaper than the sr.

It depends on the store, sportchek targes the demographic in that particular area. If you are looking for higher end selection, hit up one of the hockey expert locations such as Richmond, Langley and Park Royal

do the guys at sportschek do a good job on skate sharpening?

Honest answer depends on the store and the individual sharpener.

The skill level and quality does vary. The one question I always ask is "do you sharpen your own skates", the good skate sharpeners will usually answer yes. U want to avoid the ones that go "well I don't actually skate/play hockey".

Also u don't want to go when its super busy, skate sharpening takes time to do a good job. If someone is rushed, they are not going to be as detailed, this is true for any hockey shop.

I admit I don't shop at Sportchek for my hockey gear too often but I gotta give credit when it's due.

I dropped by to check out the ONE95 sticks advertised for $139.99 and expected all of them to be 102+ flexes in patterns nobody wanted like the P02. A fair number of sticks in both hands were still available (P92 and P88 ONE95, PM9 ONE95 Stick'um) all in 87 flex. I went in not expecting to pick anything up but I left with a stick and got the bonus $20 to spend so I just stocked up on Elite laces.

hey skiiipi, is it worth waiting for boxing day for hockey pants, gloves, sticks, skates, shoulder pads, visors??

Imo boxing day is overrated and its all about the hype.
There will usually be some hockey door crashers that's good, but besides that u save 20% off all the non marked down items. Vs friends and family is 25% so that is usually the best event to buy hockey.

As for individual sales/mark downs, majority of the hockey mark down happen in august during our hockey plus event.

So in conclusion, its not worth waiting till boxing day

Haha Bluetiger, thanks for helping me answer the question.

The "whole store GC promo" won't be back for a while most likely, but there is an outerwear GC promo starting soon. I think its spend $250 in outerwear get a $50 promo GC, and spend $500 in outerwear get a $100 promo GC. That starts in a few weeks
