Hey guys, what are some good study places in Richmond other than Blenz, Starbucks and Richmond Public Library?

Waves in Steveston or on 3 road is good. Nice atmosphere, free wifi and comfortable seats!

just study at home? turn off your computer, clean the desk and hit the damn books. i never understood why so many people feel the need to go to a coffee shop and sit in cramped areas amongst other people sipping cappuccinos while writing their papers. god damn hipsters.

^sometimes people just need to get out of the house because it might feel too comfortable or like they're not getting anywhere. A change of in atmosphere can sometimes help them get busy.

Also, +1 to waves in Steveston.

Maybe because not everyone's home is suitable for study?

having a bed nearby doesnt help :(
plus sitting in a small stuffy room with my brain functioning for hours straight gives headache...

doesn't seeing other people studying in the coffee shop too give you more motivation? :)

Honestly, I prefer places like Tim Horton's on 3 road that don't have wifi. I download all my lecture slides first then hit Timmy's. No wifi = no distractions. The internet is the biggest distraction to you studying (from my personal experience).

Yeah good point, internet is probably the biggest distraction.

I have fun stuff at home. Lots of it. I can never work when I know I can move two feet and have fun stuff to play with.

I used to live at Blenz for this particular reason. I get distracted easy...like that dog in Up.

Waves in Richmond is the best one BTW. Why?

Lots of seats.
Outdoor patio area.
Lots of power outlets.
Free, fast Wi-Fi. Lots of places have shit Wi-Fi. Waves was always reliable for me.

I like Blenz but too many people there all the time and few power outlets.

I do the same as well. What sucks is that they have a very limited amount of power outlets for my laptop.

Richmond Public Library has never let me down :)

-too many old people hogging individual booths
-too many asian families doing their math and ESL homework in the group study all afternoon to night
-too many high school runts making so much noise
-no paper towel in the washroom GOD DAMNIT

^internet's pretty up to speed :) i'm always at RPL (it's like my second home) because everything in my home is such a huge distraction during the day...i can only study at home late at night

speaking of which...the library is a coughing nation today...yuck

Dang, the Internet is the biggest distraction of all time! I remember "studying" for my finals and I spent a good half of my time on RS!

i do sort of agree with u but at the same time can't cuz my room is very messy since im lazy to clean up & at the same time i have a bunch of toys from when i was little so i sometimes would go "omg i have not played with that in ages" (i remember made a plane & a garage out of lego)

another reason for me is cuz my dad, he help me on something then get mad cuz i dun get whats hes talking about & on that bombshell i use go to the public library wear headphones (done) plus i can use the books there for help

now i just stay home as its much easier since all i do is read
