In a little bit of a tough situation here, went for a drive earlier today down some pretty easy logging roads, switched the hubs, popped it into 4H and off we go. 2 hours later with a hiking break or two, we head back to the road.
When I get back to the road the car wont shift back to 2wd. 4wd stays illuminated on the dash. I switch the hubs back and put it into 2H and try to drive, I get into 2nd gear and about 35km/h and the transmission makes a thud sound like its trying to engage?
So at this point I'm like shit and put it back into 4H and head back to our hotel. I read up a bit on it and tried driving slowly and switching it from 4H to 2H (going about 5-10km/h) with no luck.
EDIT-->Just tried putting hubs to Free, having in 4H, driving backwards 50-100 ft, then shifting to 2H and nothing. Still stuck

I'm away from home with no tools with me. Hoping to have someone shed some light on the matter for me! I'd love for an easy fix to this as we were suppose to head home today and are now stuck waiting around.
We are in Whistler at the moment...if there are any backyard mechanics who want to make a quick $$$ tomorrow PLEASE PM ME and Ill send you my # and we can arrange something. We have hotel reservations for monday night in Van and would like to get it sorted before monday.
