Woah, crazy trailer. I still remember when Mortal Kombat first came out from Midway and all the parents were totally against it as it had way too much violence. Jeez, this takes the cake!

It's basically Dead Rising in first person. If you REALLY liked Dead Rising, then maybe... But the game will be nothing like the trailer unfortunately. What a shame.
Plus the developers don't exactly have the best track record.
Saw this a long time ago...and it's still one of the greatest video game trailers I've ever seen.
On par with the Gears of War "Mad World", trailer...which gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it. I mean, how often is such an action heavy game paired with such relaxing music?
agreed it's easily one of the best IP game trailers i've seen...you actually care about the characters within a 2 min time frame even before hearing about them
it will be very hard to deliver as good as the trailer (developers only worked on the call of juarez series..which is mehh)

too bad this game is going to blow.
Mainly using melee weapons
so nothing like left for dead
Yes, I have the exact same feeling. Left 4 Dead had me hyped and excited when I first previewed the gameplay, but Dead Island to me, looks a bit boring.
It says that 4 players can play at once, but has anyone actually seen footage of 4 player coop mode? I'm suspecting the 4 player co-op will probably be more like L4D's survival mode, instead of 4 players corporating in a story.
Anyhow, I will see the ratings before buying this game. If it has a good story, I may give it a shot.
