Anyone know what is happening with Gmen? Did they get shut down for good? They haven't been open for at least a month...

I think they did, and one of the G-Men chefs works at Nanchuu now so Nanchuu also serves ramen now

I tried to go twice this month, iirc they had a sign in jap/chinese that said interior renovations though

If it is possibly true that the chef has moved, then their sign probably means "we are not closed down yet, don't leave my customers, we will be back open when we get a new chef."

I don't remember where I heard this from, but I think somebody said the owners had a falling out?

That's what I heard as well. As I mentioned in another thread they've been closed since @ least May 12th. And like others have mentioned Nanchuu is suppose to be an "Izakaya ramen" now. I highly doubt they'll re-open g-men. Too bad, I enjoyed going there...

i did rennovations inside nanchu and the chefs are the same since i started work so they might be the new or the old staff. they haf added ramen into their menu, i think the owner is still part of the gmen group (guessing) cuz he seems quite fluent in jap/canto. also he seems to be with the company for a long time.

Walked by there yesterday and there was a bailiff seizure notice on the door. Guess they are closed for good.

Unfortunately in the process this has caused pretty much all the Izakaya style items on the menu to be replaced with ramen....

Although i love ramen, i really liked Nanchuu's regular tapas stuff... now its all gone. They really shouldn't of combined it, rather, they should of just tried to open up G-men somewhere else instead of ruining an already established Izakaya.

Oh well....

Dang, that's really disappointing. There's a lot of crap izakaya out there.
I wish somebody would open up a place where the food was cheap and the drinks reasonable and the servers were hot.

Is that too much to ask?

I think this needs to happen.
*ahem*
