FOUND: Motorola Droid X
LP700-4

Recently I found this phone @ Goldstone Restaurant & Bakery. Its a black Motorola Droid X from Verizon Wireless, Black silicon casing also on it. Found on seat, I know the feeling of losing your phone, trying my best to get it back to the owner. Owner seems to like dogs very much. Pics as homescreen and stuff. Most contacts are in the seattle area code, none have replied to my texts.
If anyone knows who this phone may belong to then please send me a PM.
Will not give out to just anybody, must be proven it belongs to you.
If no replies, what should i do with it guys? Im thinking of dropping it off at Verizon whenever i get down to the states....

If it's not too much bother, I would try calling verizon and reporting the ESN as found. Since each phone has unique ESN number, the owner will likely call in to report it lost and deactivate.
Hopefully this way, Verizon can notify the customer that the phone has been found.

Dial their customer service number (*611?) and report that you found the phone. They may put you in contact with the owner, probably by calling the owners contact number and having them call the cell, or your number.

I'll try that tomorrow, owner is probably in Seattle with 209 area codes. See maybe if he will pick it up next time he drives up.

We need more people like OP...
+1 karma!, hope the guy/girl finds their phone!
Here is how I reunited the phone with its owner last time I found one:
I looked through their call logs, finding who they called the most. I called that number, and said I found the phone and would be more than willing to give it back. Within minutes someone called the number, was able to tell me some of the pictures they had in there, and we went our merry way.
Since racking up a few dollars of long distance to the owners' bill may be waaayy cheaper than the guy getting a brand new phone, why not try to do the same? (some people may mistake your texts as drunk texts lol)

Find the most commonly called numbers. There should be a call log somewhere. Call one and you should find the owner.

Last year, i lost my iPhone, called it over and over, somebody picked up and hung up every time. That feeling was terrible.
Find the most commonly called numbers. There should be a call log somewhere. Call one and you should find the owner.
Tried that, none picked up, the guy probably cut off service to the phone.
you sir, are a good man
Just trying to do my best for people. And hopefully others will do the same.
UPDATE:Looked through all the contacts which surprisingly all had email adresses, i have currently sent out emails and see if i get a reply. :thumbsup:

Hmmm...guy isnt replying to texts/emails or calls.......
Just wait on it.
If all else fails, you can just e-mail back to the person who first replied to you. Maybe the person doesn't want to keep the phone after all?
Who knows. But still, props to you.

ipad2 = prob keep
laptop = return
10,000$ in backpack = return the back back alone :P
i can sense a failstorm coming, but w/e i'm being honest, whoever fails is definitely lying to themselves. specially since im young too, i dont think my generations cares that much. But i think if i was older, i'd prob re-think everything i said, but you never know

The bottom line is I would return it whenever possible. If I found a black umbrella, I wouldn't!
If I ever lost anything of value, I would hope it gets returned.

I remember I found a purse in the club once with an iphone, wallet and tampons LOL
I found the ID in the wallet and was gonna drop it off the next day and I didn't know how to use the bloody iphone, but then at 5am while i'm sleeping they decide to call bomb the phone. I tried to ignore it for awhile and wanted to deal with it the next day. Needless to say I dropped it off to the girls bf at 5am.

I'd always return a phone and have a couple times. Laptop I'd probably return. iPad too.
Maybe it's just because I have too many of these things already?
Cash...well, depends on how much. If there's a way to identify the person, I might consider it.

I always try to return things that can be returned. Phone, wallet, and stuff with identification pieces. If its just cash or an ipod or something, its close to impossible to identify who really owns it.
UPDATE: Got a reply from actual owner, gave me some info bout the phone and looks like ill be handing it off to her cousin in a couple days. :thumbsup:

Props to you! I have and always will return stuff that I've found if I can do it myself. If I can't, return it to the lost and found in case that person tries to backtrack. For public transit, many people don't know this, but their lost and found hq is at oak and 41st. The most common item lost are umbrellas. Especially for iPhones and iPads the new "find my iPhone" feature will probably let the owner track you to your home or work. You can always turn it off, but that means your intent was to steal and karma will pwn u!
