Not an organization like what you're looking for, but you can freecyle it - The Freecycle Network (http://www.freecycle.org)

I got rid of an old, but working, TV this way. I think some charity or group home picked it up.

big brothers might? it states household items on their website but no idea if they have any size restrictions.
