Totally, not for gaming......................................
If you want to have a decent Gaming PC. $500 bux ?? thats shitty.
Be for specific, what kinda game do you wanna run smoothly ??
Well I just want a comp that will be decent for gaming. Not too crappy, not too extreme.

Get one with an AMD A8 3850 CPU. It is capable of playing games on a console-like quality level, and should be able to get one for your price.
Or something with a graphics card that is at LEAST a 5570. Like this one (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227314).

The ATI Radeon 4200 is total balls. It sucks. Find another PC.
And why not a custom-built PC?
Hows this?

Here's some advice: Don't.
You won't get a decent gaming computer there. I looked at their lowest spec "gaming system" and it didn't even have a fucking video card, just integrated Intel.

You haven't told us ~ What kinda game do you wanna run on this rig !?!?!?
For example, If you wanna run Crysis 2, the witcher 2, MW3, or BF3...etc.
Then, u need probably at 900~1000 bux to run them decently (Maybe at lowest setting.....).
or You just wanna run SC2, MW2, BF2 ...700 bux PC will be good enough.
Depends on the Game, the system requirement is totally Differentttttt......

well, sure
try with 4v4 with full units.
Also, will you be able to play any future games ? Low setting maybe ?
So, you would spend 500~600 to play some current games. And after a yr, your system is totally out dated.
And lets see what spec PC u have got there. for only 450.

problem with the ones you listed is they don't come with video cards lol. you're never going to run anything with onboard graphics besides flash games or minesweeper.
also bb/fs always racks up their prices on premade desktops. pos towers they sell for $500 would probably cost you $200 to build yourself. i'm sure they increase the price probably cause of labor + mark up at fs. if you're budget is under $800 (assuming you dont need to buy a monitor, keyboard, mouse and other accessories), you can build a pretty monster computer that would run most of the games you're interested in.
most of the computers at fs and bb usually are tailored towards the everyday email checking-web browsing-facebooking-youtubing people who don't require a lot out of their computer.
lol i just realized while browsing through bb's website, they have a 'gaming section' under their desktop computers area. maybe you'll find something there you like.

buying pc from futureshop/estbuy with the purpose of gaming = fail
if you can spend up to $700...google some gaming builds around that price...buy the parts from ncix and for another $50 get them to assemble it if you dont know how/lazy.
done...it can probably hold off for 2-3 years instead of the futureshop comp that will have trouble running games from 2007

If you have to buy something premade, buy it off amazon.com, ship it to point roberts, and pick it up.
Or buy it from NCIX. You still get warranty (i think) and it won't be a bunch of generic shit
NCIX.com - Buy Consumer Desktops In Canada. (http://ncix.com/computers/)
Or get one made from memoryexpress.
Just pick the computer you want, and get them to add a video card. Done, its faster and looks cooler and has no extra software that all those POS manufacturers install, and has warranty.
Or you could buy a FS computer, but the only thing is their power supplies usually barely meet the computers requirements, so if you add a good video card its likely to draw a lot of power and cause instability in your PC, so you gotta get a new power supply too. If you do go for a futureshop computer, budget $150-$200 for a videocard and decent PS

Like others have said, avoid futureshop/bestbuy for desktops to to game. Even the NCIX/Memory Express pre-built computers aren't worth it imo. The best is to pick out your parts and build it yourself, or pay NCIX/ME to put it together. This way, if anything goes wrong you will know how to replace the part yourself. I think ME is free, and NCIX will probably do it if you buy everything from there. Also, DDR3 Ram is so cheap now.. you can get 4gb for like $25~.. while it was $100 last summer.

I built it specifically to play SC2 and Dota2. I'm not interested in playing BF3 or having a top of the line system. I play most of my games on 360/PS3. No idea if it does 4v4 with full units cause I don't play 4v4 but I've played UMS maps with tons of enemies and no lag at all.

Gaming (mostly) depends on the graphic card MUCH MUCH more than the CPU...
I saved this link when I was putting together my last PC>>
GPU vs. CPU Upgrade: Extensive Tests : Test Subjects: Four Generations of Nvidia Chips (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-gpu-upgrade,1928.html)
http://media.bestofmicro.com/E/V/102919/original/chart_crysis_1920_hq.png
You can see how the CPUs make very little difference in performance....especially if you are running graphic intensive, high resolution games
*The test is a few yrs old, but the idea is the same...unless you are going with a very very high end video card, the CPU doesn't make a big difference in performance
problem with most pre-built desktop you find in bigbox store is that they all have low-mid range video card (even if you buy the expensive top of the line models, it will come w/ the fastest CPU, 12GB ram, SSD + HD..etc etc, but only a mid range video card)

Assuming you won't be overclocking (based on the motherboard choice) so no need for a 3rd party cooler
See if that extra budget savings can get you a better video card (not that your choice is bad, but you should always put as much into the video card as possible)

For a moderate OC like that, you don't need a super high end board. I am currently testing the Gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3 and hitting 4.3 or so is as simple as hitting the "Turbo" button. But you will run into heat issues with the onboard components if you try to push the voltage to the CPU's limit to reach higher clock speeds. For the explanation as to why, wait for the review :)
