	   | Hit & Run

I am looking for anyone with information regarding a hit and run between a silver Honda accord and light colour suv/4x4.
Happened by the HWY 1 & Willingdon turn off.
My gf was driving and she signaled him to follow her and he took off.
It just happened like 30 minutes ago.
Anyone with any information please come forward. Would be greatly appreciated. Posted via RS Mobile | | | | | 08-18-2011, 01:10 PM | #2 | | Glorious Gaming PC Master Race

My girlfriend had the same thing happened to her, some guy took a turn too wide and side swipe her, guy signal her to follow, by the time my gf uturn. He was gone!
Iucky for my gf, the witness behind her was an undercover cop! And eventually caught the guy!
Getting a witness is good! Hope it all turns out well for ur gf! Catch that asshole Posted via RS Mobile | | | | | 08-18-2011, 06:11 PM | #4 | | I Will not Admit my Addiction to RS

^^^ icbc only returns your deductible if they can find someone to go after and are successful at getting money from them.
the point of a deductible is that it's the portion you have to pay as part of an insurance claim. icbc only returns the deductible amount to you as a customer service thing if/when they get enough money back from the at-fault vehicle. if you get hit by a stolen car driven by a homeless guy, you're SOL on getting that deductible amount back.

Thanks for the replies guys, unfortunately it looks like my girlfriend is gonna be stuck forking out the deductible.
This is definitely a lesson learned! Get some kind of info before driving off.

It's a good lesson. Makes those dashboard cameras look more and more attractive.

If so, you may want to check the bumper for a front license plate impression.
I'm guessing she didn't catch the license plate as she was pulling over or at the very least the make and model?

Sorry to hear about OP's gf's situation.

Posted via RS Mobile | from experience, and as shitty of an asshole it makes you, if you get hit, just stop and stay where you are . when safe, at least get their plates. being nice and moving out of traffic will give that other person the option to flee.
but if they hit and just leave anyways, there's not much you can do.
hopefully you have a witness. its pretty much a deal breaker.

^I've thought about this myself. People don't really go into detail on what to do after getting into an accident other than 'pull over and exchange information".

I've never been rear ended but I've always thought, regardless of how busy the street is, I should do everything in my power to get their plate first. If I can't do it through the rear view, I would get out and look at their plate. Easy to think about but if it was a rear ender in the left lane it would be hella dangerous to do this.

Last time someone rear ended me i took a picture of the car and their plates. I also took a picture of the intersection and the damages to both vehicles.

I made sure I got the plates and took the picture of the positions of the cars immediately after the accident just in case. We then moved the cars to prevent traffic from building up. If you are quick with this it should only take a second.
But if they speed off right after then you are SOL | | | | | 08-19-2011, 10:35 AM | #14 | | xxx
