Official RS TV thread

** not currently mod approved **

Ok so let me start off by saying that I couldn't find a thread like this so I've decided to create my own. Please use this thread in the future to ask any or all TV related questions you may have.

I am currently looking for a new tv to put in my bedroom, but I have no idea what kind I should get. I know that the size i need for my bedroom is either a 42' or 46'. Some people have told me that plasma is the only way to go, but its my bedroom and theres lots of outside light coming in.. does that even matter anymore with plasma's? do they still have to be put in darker rooms only?? tv's main uses are going to be video gaming, watching movies and sometimes watching whatever is on cable(mostly when I'm in bed about to pass out).

Any help I can get here would be GREATLY appreciated.

open box co has this vizio 47" lcd 1080p/120hz on sale for $489. I've heard good things about vizio tv's so I may go check this out. only thing that concerns me is warranty.. i was thinking of buying from costco just because of the warranty.

I'm looking for a 32" TV somewhere in the $200 range. Anywhere I should look other than Future Shop and Best Buy?
