Halal Restaurants and Butchers in Vancouver
Hey all,
I have 2 friends visiting from London this coming week, and I wanted to take them out to some halal places in Vancouver - otherwise, fish is going to get boring really quickly.
Anybody know any good Halal Resto's in Van? I'm actually looking particularly at Chinese Halal food. I heard Green Lettuce is Halal, but not sure about other place. I know there used to be a halal chinese place that originated on Main and 18th(?) and then moved to Victoria and 41st - but I heard it's gone now.
Thanks in advanced for any input!!

Greek-ish? I'm assuming. I've never been there, I only remember reading about it.
as far as butchers go, on fraser there is lahore meats, alfaraza on vic and 35th?, hafiz halal meats by joyce skytrain... i know a lot of halal restaurants so if theres anything specific ur looking for just pm me, theres also chilli pepper house on kingsway and rupert? if u google the names u might find places, they have green lettuce in surrey as well, hakka masti on scott and 88th, gulberg is good semi fine dining halal place in langley. for south indian food there is house of dosa on kingsway and knight, for indian there is "something" gate restaurant across green lettuce on kingsway.
oh and as for halal fast food, a Chicken World opened up on the SouthEast corner of knight and 49th... chicken, fries, mojos, burgers... etc. etc.
I was really looking for some place that's like Ma's Chinese Restaurant (I found the name) - they had the best beef pancakes. Too bad they're no longer halal.
My friend's are from London, so they can definitely get enough halal fast food there... I'm really looking for something different that they can't get.
Thanks for all the recommendations guys. I'm gonna stop by some of the butchers to pick up some meat - having a bbq on sunday, so I need some good halal meat.

Ma's Chinese Restaurant is gone. The owners left and went back to Hong Kong to open their own Halal chinese food. The wife's family does the same food business in Hong Kong as well. They make the best pancakes/dumplings/gyozas almost everything. hahah I missed that place.

it actually isn't anymore, it was before, they are misinformed.
