He thinks he will be starring in the Lybian series called "Tripoli Shore". Hey kid, this is real stuff, people disappear, get wounded, have body parts hacked off, that sort of thing...and the bunch you want to fight for are the muslim brotherhood who at the very best consider you a "useful idiot".

The following is quoted from The Daily Bruin which was posted by Presto.
"His life points to a talent for assimilation and a desire for bold experiences. The winter of his first year in college, Jeon traveled alone to a remote orphanage in Cambodia.
The following summer, he spent two months in the Amazon with an indigenous tribe, hunting piranhas for food.
In January, he and his close friend Ross McCray went to Seattle and stayed for a week with only $1 in their pockets and the plane ticket home. The pair lived on the street and begged for food.
In Libya, he fasted with the soldiers during Ramadan and participated in prayers.
“He thrives on new environments,” said McCray, a third-year mathematics student at UCLA. “Until you’re actually there experiencing it, you’re not going to know what it’s like.”"
ZuluTango, I am aware that you are in some way related to law enforcement. Therefore, I will assume that you have seen much of the "real world". Having said that, I will still stand by the statement that "this kid" may have a better idea of what "the real world" is than perhaps even yourself.
edit: sorry for being overly harsh. I forgot that user ZuluTango made his post before the one with Daily Bruin update.

Just because he did something that none of us here would've done, doesn't make him a bad person nor does it make him an idiot. Everyone has their owns reasons.

Power of the media. This article casts him in a completely different light, and I doubt Zulutango knew all this about him when he made that comment a month ago.
I didn't think much of him either when I first heard him on the news sounding like a happy-go-lucky kid wanting to "experience" something new. The fact that he's traveled to a remote orphanage in Cambodia AND spent two whole months in the Amazon with an indigenous tribe really puts his trip to Libya in a different perspective.

^you are correct.
Sorry about that ZuluTango. I reread that article and I would totally agree with your comments if all our info was based off that first article. Sorry
