6.7 is a decent sized quake, I'm glad the epicenter was so far off-shore.
Less than 2.0 Micro Micro earthquakes, not felt.[12] About 8,000 per day
2.02.9 Minor Generally not felt, but recorded. About 1,000 per day
3.03.9 Often felt, but rarely causes damage. 49,000 per year (est.)
4.04.9 Light Noticeable shaking of indoor items, rattling noises. Significant damage unlikely. 6,200 per year (est.)
5.05.9 Moderate Can cause major damage to poorly constructed buildings over small regions. At most slight damage to well-designed buildings. 800 per year
6.06.9 Strong Can be destructive in areas up to about 160 kilometres (100 mi) across in populated areas. 120 per year
7.07.9 Major Can cause serious damage over larger areas. 18 per year
8.08.9 Great Can cause serious damage in areas several hundred kilometres across. 1 per year
9.09.9 Devastating in areas several thousand kilometres across.
1 per 20 years
10.0+ Massive Never recorded, widespread devastation across very large areas; see below for equivalent seismic energy yield.
Extremely rare (Unknown)

it really depends on the ground you are standing on. at our office, those of us located near an atrium felt it, while the other sides near corners of the building felt nothing. then at our other office just next door in the metro/rogers towers up on the 19th floor, blinds were going over the place and they had to be evacuated for a bit.

Felt it at Coal Harbour area in downtown. Our company was having a staff lunch and then I felt it shook. At first, I thought I was dizzy or something, cuz I was shifting back and forth.
I guess the earthquake drills of learning how to hide under a table back in elementary school, sure didn't come into play. Everyone in my company kept eating and was like WTF, the floor shaking. LOL.

AWESOME.
Pressure relief is a good thing.
It is, but remember how the Richter Scale works. It's unlikely that this quake released more than a tiny fraction of the pressure that actually exists down there.
I remember learning this in Math 10 or something around that time:
For each unit that the Richter Scale goes up, the magnitude of the quake actually increases 10-fold. (7.0 quake's magnitude is 10x larger than a 6.0's.) It's a logarithmic scale with base 10. 10^(x), where x is the number on the Richter Scale.
Let's assume that the "Big One" will be an 8.5 on the Richter Scale. Today's quake was a 6.4(?). The difference in magnitude is 2.1.
(10^2.1) : 1 = ~126:1
That means that today's quake was 126 times smaller in magnitude than the "Big One" if it will be 8.5.
The magnitude, however, is only on the scale. Finding the relative amount of energy released requires raising our numbers to yet another power: (3/2) [Thank you, Google.]
The difference in magnitude was 2.1.
(10^2.1)^(3/2) = ~1,412
A quake of 8.5 would release 1,412 times more energy than that of today's quake. Who knows? Maybe the "Big One" will be a 9.5. In that case, the energy released will be 44,668 times more than today's quake.
I don't know about you, but I'm not too sold on the idea of this minuscule pressure relief being something for us to be relieved about.
And for the record, I felt nothing in Richmond Centre.

Nothing to report from Bowen Island. My parents in Parksville told me about it but they too felt nothing.
I don't know the Lower Mainland well because I just moved here but it would be interesting to see a map of effected regions to track where it went. Even a map with dots from those on RS who did feel it would be interesting. A lot of you list locations but I have no idea where they are to get a sense of it.
