Larry Ellison vs Larry Page: Cage Match
Don't know if anyone has been following the Oracle vs Google proceedings, but the judge presiding over the case is "strongly suggesting" both companies come to some sort of mediated agreement to avoid going to trial.
Both sides have been making suggestions as to who should appear on behalf of each company, with each side complaining the other side isn't sending an "appropriate" individual (basically saying things like "we're sending John and you're sending Jim - he isn't half the man John is").
So the judge finally says enough is enough and lays the smackdown on both. He issued a court order on Friday that both Larry Ellison and Larry Page (the top guys at each company) have to show up for mediation on Monday the 19th and must make themselves available for further days during that week if mediation goes nowhere on the first day. Ouch. Imagine having to clear your schedule for an entire week with only one weeks notice.
Kinda funny that two very powerful CEO's (who have been acting like kiddies at various points in this case) are now forced into meeting face-to-face to try and hammer out a settlement. I can't ever recall something like this happening before - usually it's the lawyers that go into the trenches to fight.
