^ me too. The AMG specs were quite beastly relative to the others.

My guesses were the Corvette or the GT-R (Just for the sake of it being a GT-R).
I didn't watch carefully, and thought it was the ZR-1.
I knew the GT-R was going to launch ahead of the pack, but I didn't expect it to stay in front the whole way.
But I also didn't realize the GT-R's specs got upgraded. Wasn't paying attention in the begininng...

GTR gearing is great for 1/4 mile. Ferrari was easily catching up, which is no surprise.

add in Lambo and McLaren. Take out the Cayman, Evora, 1M. hmmm?

these specific cars were used in the drag race because motor trend recently tested these specific cars on the Mazda Laguna Seca, all these cars are 2012 btw, go to their youtube channel to watch the hot laps

This race might have been done twice... at least.
There's two different camera shots of the launch, with inconsistencies.

R8 takes off before GT-R.
Z06 takes off before Ferrari

Next camera view, GT-R and Ferrari clearly takes the lead ahead of the R8 and Z06, respectively.

The Best Driver's Car test MT did I thought was pretty good - they had Randy Pobst test all of the cars at Laguna Seca and got a lot of feedback from him. This reduces the chance that one driver was faster than the other and is a more accurate form of testing. That combined with their numerous tests and collected data was more interesting than just the typical lateral g's and slalom numbers.

The drag race was done just because they had the space and all the cars there at once. The GTR is just a beast but the sounds of the Italia is awesome.

do a drag race with few millions $ worth of cars...can't even show the whole 12s race in 1 camera shot!?

I just hate how they are piecing together bunch of different shots to make up the video. Can't really see which car is pulling fast early and late.
Some of the shots look like they are from different races as well.
e.g. Some shots the telsa was a whole car length in front off the line (5:04), others it was neck and neck with the GT3 (6:00)
