VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - CUPE workers at the PNE have voted 92 per cent in favour of a strike.
The workers have been without a contract since January 1st and it's the first time in 25 years an agreement wasn't signed before the fair.
Contract talks broke down three weeks ago, but more talks are set for next week. CUPE wants better job security and cost of living increases for their lowest-paid employees.
The members at the PNE and Playland include ticket takers, security, bartenders, concession employees, ride technicians and operators, cleaners, and parking employees.
