FS: 1993 Milano Red Honda Prelude SR-V *ALMOST track ready*

Hi guys! I'm currently just testing the waters for this car..I know it's going to be a hard one to sell, but I figured it's worth a shot to see if perhaps anyone would be interested

So what I have here is a Milano Red '93 Honda Prelude SR-V. It is a U.S. car, so I guess it's an Si VTEC? Car has 173,xxx miles on the odometer when I bought it from the previous owner (276,xxx kms), and this happened in November 2010, exactly 10 months ago! Paint is definitely not 10 out of 10, but this car has ZERO rust on the body! No typical Honda rust, brand new front windshield, and no faded pink'ish Milano Red! Clean title, NOT a rebuilt, Aircared until July 2013!

Before continuing, check out my FB albums for all the pictures I took during the building process of this car. It took me in total of 7 months to build this car the way I want it! Cost will be listed in details in a bit..

"Project Red" in the making: Part I

"Project Red" in the making: Part II

The main goal for this car was to turn it into a track ready car, so I got right down to work as soon as this car was registered under my name. My main focus was footwork, exterior, interior, and weight reduction. With weight reduction, I completely cleaned and gutted the interior of the car..No more sound deadening (dry ice method), no more carpet (just OEM floormats), no back seat, no rear speakers, no trunk liners, just the necessities.

Anyway, I won't get into details with the explanation, because I might get everyone bored lol..But for those who know me, you know that I don't build a car half-assed. I built this car starting on November 2010, and got everything done in July 2011. The suspension and brakes on this car has been fully rebuilt with all brand new both OEM and high-quality aftermarket parts! Check out the list..

More good facts:
- Car is fully loaded, being an SR-V model. Comes with everything!
- Car passed Aircare with flying colours! Aircared until July 2013!
- Front lip and side skirts has brand new paint! 100% flawless
- I've already done 4-wheel alignment on this car. Took it to an alignment shop (Can't remember the name of the shop, sorry), got toe, camber and caster properly set on all four corners!
- Interior is fully cleaned and gutted. Parts left on the interior: Dash, center console, inner door panels, Front seats, floormats, rear quarter trim panels.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So why am I selling you ask? Well, after I finished this car 100%, got it aircared and aligned, I drove it for 3 days before the transmission gave out on me Turns out the transmission is bad, complete shit. 2nd gear synchro is gone, and either throwout bearing is completely gone, or main input shaft bearing is completely gone. Either way, I drove the car in total of less than 700km before I was forced to once again park it in the driveway!

So now I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I KNOW that as soon as I pull out the motor, I would want to fully rebuild the H22A4 (Type-S pistons, all new bearings, all new seals, headwork, valves, valve springs, retainers, port & polish, cams, ARP head studs, etc.), do a wire tuck on the engine bay and have it repainted, get the M2F4 trans sent out to Gearspeed to get it fully rebuilt with carbon coated synchros, Quaife LSD and perhaps even 4.4 or 4.6 Final Drive, Exedy Stage 2 Clutch, Fidanza flywheel, Innovative 95A motor mounts, Bisimoto H22A header, ESP Traction Bar, Kaizen Balance Shaft Eliminator, manual tensioner conversion, and so on and so on. You guys get the point: Once I pull this motor out, I KNOW I'll be dumping at least another $6-7k into this car, and I've just gotten to a point where I DON'T want to dump more money into cars! As much as I want to, I've decided that my priorities need to be re-arranged.

So here it is guys. Car is for sale: Chassis has been fully rebuilt inside and out (You've read the list above), motor is good, passed aircare with flying colors until July 2013, track ready, and there's NOTHING on the suspension/brakes that I haven't replaced. If you come look at the car, jack it up and look at all the suspension component underneath, I guarantee you'll be impressed. Everything is still brand new, BARELY any dirt/dust on them! Here is the bad:

- M2F4 Transmission is shot.
- While the motor is out, I WAS thinking of doing major service on the motor as well, which includes changing the timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, and ALL the seals. Here are the parts needed to do this service:
- 14400-P13-014 (H22A4 Timing Belt) (x1)
- 13405-PT0-004 (H22A4 Balancer Belt) (x1)
- 19200-P13-003 (H22A4 Water Pump) (x1)
- 91213-PR3-004 (H22A4 Cam Seal) (x2)
- 12513-P31-000 (H22A4 Cam End Seal) (x1)
- 15825-P13-005 (H22A4 VTEC Solenoid Gasket) (x1)
- 12030-P13-000 (H22A4 Valve Cover Gasket Set) (x1)
- 30110-PA1-732 (H22A4 Distributor O-Ring) (x1)
- 91212-PAA-001 (H22A4 Crank Seal) (x1)
- 15114-PT0-003 (H22A4 Oil Pump Drive Seal) (x1)
- 91233-PT0-003 (H22A4 Balance Shaft Seal) (x1)
- Balance Shaft Seal Retainer (Don't know Part Number)
- 91316-PE7-730 (H22A4 Oil Filter Adapter Gasket)

The parts above are worth just under $450, and I have ALL of them sitting in a box here in my garage! Once again, I will include them with the car. All you have to do is install them!

- The car runs a P13 ECU, just like any other Hondas running H22A; however, I've sold the ECU 2 weeks ago while the car was sitting in the driveway. So that will be one thing you need to get for this car: A P13 ECU!
- When I bought this car in November, the passenger side headlight wasn't lining up properly with the fender, bumper and hood. It seemed like the car had been in a front end accident before? Nothing major of course, I sent the car to a bodyshop to get all the body parts lined up. They told me the frame is 100% fine, only the passenger side apron was a little off. So they fixed that problem, and they painted both my Chargespeed front lip and Value Sports side skirts as well. And installed my brand new Seibon CF hood! The car drives 100% straight, so no need to worry about that.
- A/C would need to be recharged. It's still completely hooked up; however, it has no pressure or whatsoever. There is no sign of leaks anywhere along the A/C lines, so once you get it recharged, it SHOULD work just fine.

Having said all that, in the last 8 months that I've been building this car, I've spent a bit over $12k on parts alone, not counting the initial price of the car, as well as miscellaneous parts. Add up the numbers above and you'll see what I mean! That's not even ALL the parts, I still have a lot of rare JDM parts sitting in the storage waiting to be installed! These parts won't come with the car of course, they will be optional I will list the optional parts tomorrow. But labour was all done by me (other than the bodyshop for paint and front end re-alignment), which is why I only calculated price of the parts alone!

As for price of the car, I am asking $6500 --> $5800 for it. I'm sure a lot of people would think that it's a lot of money for an 18-year old Honda with a broken transmission. That is fine, I understand this is not everyone's cup of tea. But if anyone's planning on building a car the way I've built this car, here is your chance! Having a motor hoist handy would be a big advantage, that way you can just pull out the motor, swap the transmission, do the service (t-belt, etc.), put the motor back in, insure the car and you're ready for the track!

Once again, I am somewhat testing the waters with this car. If someone bites, great, take this off my hands before I dump another $8k into it, or else, I will fix it during the winter time and get it ready for next summer

Thanks for looking everyone, and for taking the time to read my long ass FS thread! Please feel free to PM me or email at nsxr_onald@hotmail.com if anyone's interested, or if you have any questions! Last but not least, here comes the pics!

Thanks again everyone!

Ronald

Hey Ronald,
Why do you have to pull out the motor?
I had my tranny pulled in and out many times.
G5 charged me $250 I believe to just swap my tranny out and put another one in.
It only takes about 3 hours to do and you'll be back on the road.

Hey bro! Thanks for the heads up..Damn, I've always thought it'd cost more to get a shop to do it for me.

Well, the reason I want to pull out the motor is because I also want to do the major service on the motor (T-Belt, water pump, cam gear seals, rear main seal, manual tensioner conversion, and so on)..Not to mention clutch, flywheel, and Innovative motor mounts..That's why I thought it'd make more sense to pull out the motor and do everything all at once..Keep in mind, I was planning on doing this by myself as well, without having to take the car to any shop. But again, it's just more time, and more money. I really don't have the time these days, not to mention the weather is going to be downhill from here on for the next 6-8 months

Bottom line, I just don't feel like spending more money on the car, that's all..If someone would buy this car off my hands, I already have a plan on what to do with the money..Just trying to get out of car modding, that's all.

But that is good news though, thank you for that. If someone is actually a little bit interested in this car, all you really need is a stock P13 ECU, bring this car to G5, and for $250, you'd be able to drive this car home from G5!

I'd still recommend doing the major service though, just because I don't know the history of the motor, who knows when the last time the T-belt or balance shaft belt or the water pump was replaced..Better safe than sorry! And again, I have all the parts you need to do this service sitting in a box. Brand new, OEM Honda parts! And while you're at it, I'd recommend doing a manual tensioner conversion as well, and a new clutch/flywheel..but that's just me

Forgot to post some interior shots of the car! Here is what it looked like when I first got the car:

After first step of cleaning:

Sound deadening stripped, chassis painted with same R81 paint:

Final result:

Trunk:

As of right now, I'm not parting out the car in any way, especially the wheels! Not until I decide to keep the car and get myself a new set of wheels

Thanks for all the free bumps everyone. Much appreciated!

Ronald

Hoping someone will snatch this car off my hands before I buy more parts for it. Just now I'm almost tempted to order Bisimoto header, MFactory 4.64 FD, Progress 27mm rear sway bar, and Innovative Extreme 95A Motor Mounts

Someone take this car off my hands, please!

When driving and the clutch pedal is depressed, does the bearing noise go away?

Car looks freaking sexy, btw

Thanks for the free bumps guys

Welfare, yes, when driving, if the clutch pedal is depressed, the whine went away..The whine follows the RPM...Either way, trans is 100% f'ed. Right now, even if the car is in neutral, if I give it a push (Like what I had to do yesterday to move it), it wouldn't roll smoothly! It would roll, and then it would start resisting, as if the car is in gear, even though it's not!

Anyway, this is me bumping up my thread on a Sunday night. Like I said, for anyone who is interested, a spare transmission will be provided with the car! All you need to do is install it, get yourself a P13 ECU, and you are good to go

Price is not set in stone either. The way I see it, if anyone takes this off my hands, it would end up saving me money in the near future, because I am ready to dump another $10k into this car to get the M2F4 trans sent out to Gearspeed to get it fully rebuild, plus MFactory 4.64 FD and Quaife LSD, and have the H22A taken apart and fully rebuild as well lol. So again, I'm hoping someone would buy this car off me before I lose even more money!

$6500 OBO!

What was the point in mentioning that it had a new timing belt back in 08?

^ He just wanted to inform me that, because I had no idea how old the current T-belt is!

dubzz, what a small world haha well not really, I did get this car from RS last year lol..I hope this car looks better now than when you had it last! I'd hate to think that the car has moved backwards since it's previous owners! The H22A4 motor IS in good condition though, pulls good, sounds good, and it passed aircare with flying numbers too! Too bad the transmission is shot

BUMPing this thread again because I'm still hoping that someone would take this car off my hands before I start spending again! I'm super tempted to keep building this car. Funny enough, someone might be buying the spare M2Y4 transmission this weekend! If the deal goes through, then unfortunately this car will not come with a spare transmission..If that's the case then the price will be adjusted.

But either way, for anyone who is interested at all, please feel free to throw me an offer!

Thanks guys

Ronald

Sunday night BUMP! Will start prepping the car for a motor pull next weekend, and once the motor is out, this car will be heartless until most likely next spring The engine bay will undergo a mild wire tuck as well!

Sunday afternoon BUMP

M2Y4 replacement trans has been sold, and therefore price has been dropped! Car is being taken apart right now and have the motor prepped to get pulled out. But car is still available for sale, for those of you who are interested.

PMs have been replied as well!

Thanks John! Nothing compared to what your Lude was, though!

Update: Motor will be out of the car by this weekend! Makes it easier for anyone who's interested My plan is to swap a Euro-R motor in by January if no one buys this car, and just race it on the track!

As much as I want to finish this car, I'd still much rather have someone take this off my hands! Price is OBO guys, feel free to throw me an offer!

AND! I just purchased a set of brand new Innovative 85A Race Motor Mounts! Like I said, I'm going to continue building this car until someone takes it off my hands..But if anyone decides to buy this car, I will include the mounts with the car!
