The title says it all. As one of the few well-received bits of news during this morning's Sony TGS press conference, Square Enix announced that it will bring the PS2 hit, Final Fantasy X, to the Vita and its big brother in remastered form. Details on exactly what this means were scarce, but we imagine it'll look prettier and prettier-er on the Vita and PS3, respectively.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced as a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis group of Square Enix games at E3 2006. As of July 2011, the game hadn’t even entered production. As of this past weekend, Versus XIII is finally in full development.

Sigh I loved FFX and an HD remake will be pretty awesome but I still feel like the series downward spiral won't be end until they can create games that focus on a superior storyline and an innovative but still fun battle system instead of just trying to make cool graphics and cutscenes. Golden days were in the 90's and early 00' before the square-Enixmerger :( I would rather see an HD remake of FF7 or Chrono Trigger/Cross, or a new Chrono game. Probably not as much $$ in it but it would continue the series in a way that would attract a lot of the fans who played the old games but stopped playing after X

Everyone complaining about FF7 remake should check up on what Square said.They said they could not make it even if they tried. The game was too lengthy and to remake it, it would take more time than to make a brand new FF. Honestly FF13 wasn't bad and FF13-2 looks even better. I'd also much rather have 10 than 7. 8 was the best imo

Nice. I tried to replay X recently and I was annoyed by the weird aspect ratio and the black bars. It looked really odd on a HD tv. Hopefully they'll make it work better.

I thought 7 was a bit overrated or maybe because its just over-hyped now. 13 was awesome and it was a good change and more suited to gamers today.

My ranking goes like

10 > tactics > 13 > 6 > 9 > 7 > 12 > 8

I find people will favor their first experience with FF, for many people that was 7. For me, 6 will always be king and 10 runs second. I wonder if they'll throw in 10-2...

you mean mashing the auto attack button for the first 10 hours of the game, walking in a straight linear line for the next 20 hours, and watching a really long shitty movie, with no likeable characters,

then I am afraid of what future games have to hold.

you cant compare the story / gameplay of 13 to any of the others so far, it was shit, just like X-2 was shit

I remember whipping through 13 in like 15 hours I think, and I thought to myself, "thats it? this is the worst game ever" I didnt even care about the story it was so bad, there was nothing epic about it.

how many hours did you spend breeding chocobo's in 7? or playing at the gold saucer? how many hours did you spend playing blitzball?

vs how many hours you spent walking in a straight line watching the physics of the characters hair

13 looked nice but it wasn't a Final Fantasy game for me that's why I was hoping for VersusXIII i know those aren't traditionally like FF games but i was hoping it'd be better than FF13

I still blame Xbox for ff13s suckage

tactics was great but im surprised you can put 10 first and 8 last.
ff10 was kinda middle of the pack for me. 7 was the best because the story just really got to you. you'd actually care about the characters which you cant really say about the other ff games (maybe 8).
9 was underrated, i liked it.
