Student loan question.....

I received $6000 earlier this week from CLS but I am still missing $3000 from BCSL.
Do they usually deposite the CLS ( canada studen loan) portion of the money separately from the BC student loan?

yes
two different loans, smaller portion of loan is usually party money :troll:
If you already got 6000, it's highly unlikely you'll be getting more this term unless you got a grant or bursary. I think the max is like close to 11k for the year, so maybe it'll come next semester?

that is for a full year. u get the larger portion now an in jan u should get the rest....at least that is how it use to work....especially if you go to UBC or a uni/college that runs on "terms" and not semesters like SFU.

There is still grant@@ I think they no longer give grants out.
I remember when I got o BCIT tons of students would get like 6k per semster and spend a ton of that fixing their cars, getting new computers, beer........
What got gov should do is use part of your loan to pay for your course directly (paid to the school you are register) and then give then rest out month to month so people actually plan better on how to use their student loan.

:seriously: on your notice of assessment it clearly states which dates you'll be receiving your CSL/BCSL

Actually, they already do that. It's call subsidizing, this is why foreign students pay three times the tuition locals pay.

If he voted "No" to extinguish the HST, then he could be living in kits driving multiple cake eating cars and I wouldn't care.
I've come to the sad realization that if you can get yours from the government, why not get it? Everyone always abuses the system. Now one can argue well if everyone abuses the system you take away from people that actually need it. Well i'm sure on occasion that you take from people that do not need it or you take from people who are lazy and just collect from the government.
After the referendum on the HST I am actually really angry at the people who voted NO. So my views and ethics have changed over government programs. I say abuse the fuck out of the system if I can. And if the programs get taken away or cut back (which I think they will regardless of if I abuse the system or not) well that's too bad. Hopefully, you have enough money to pay for it privately.

back in the old days, I saw kids driving S class, Jags, Porsche to pick up their student grant cheques at the post office on Cambie Rd in Richmond.
I also remember someone posted online saying "$200 to help completing the 4 pages form that guarantee you to get $3000 grants" LOL

If he voted "No" - there would be enough REVENUE from a REVENUE- NEUTRAL tax to fund student loans - so (assuming) OP and his sattelite buddies can live well. -- Got it.
If we run with that idea -- enough tax revenue so no one should give a crap, we would be where we are today in about 10-15 years - another deficit.
The problem with majority of governments is - they can't manage what they have. the easiest thing to do is raise taxes and fill in the gap. if OP wants an education , langara / douglas / bcit will provide the same as a ubc -- government should not have to pay for "brand". I know i'm assuming a ton here - but I hope you see where I'm going with it.
OP -- you could be the most honest dude in the world and my assumptions have nothing against you personally. just trying to make a point :)
The rest of your rant -- you lost me ...
Why are you - typing like this -- bro?
