| Center console repair
So as some of you know I've had a break-in occur in my car within the last few months and I went through Soundsgood to get fixed back up. The problem is that the only center consoles available for my EG were the USDM. That means I had to take out my JDM one.
I still have the outer shell and I want to make use of it. Short of me trying to find new internal mounts for it does anyone have suggestions as to how I can make this usable again? |

Depends on the material, but if it is plastic, CA glue works wonders.

I had a longer reply, but shortened it. I mentioned about the kind of plastic and using liquid plastic, and icing, and SEM paint and texture paint after repairs were done, and it was just too long of a reply.
I just happened to be at Mike's when Tachy was there. Suggestions were given.
Also, at the time, we were distracted by some asshatness, courtesy of some dude on a bike who tried to show off by pulling a stunt. Anyway, he ended up falling, getting dragged by his own bike right into the back of a car. Someone called 911, emergency vehicles attended and some chicks were prancing around, boobs were bouncing and I was like.......... nice. Happened right on the corner where ICBC is. Dude gets looked at, pulls out his wallet, and pays the dude who owns the car, cash to forget about the incident. Asian dude who owned the car's like, "cool, I have more cash in my hands than what the car is worth." By the time everything was said and done, the console was forgotten about. See, I can't help but to post long ass replies.
OP wasn't sure what to do at the time. Anyway, always good to see what others have to say/suggest.

The plastic internals were badly damaged. They weren't salvageable. Also, the center console wasn't a huge priority at the time as I genuinely thought it was going to be entirely scrapped. It was MG1 in his Don Ho pimp wear who convinced me to change my mind and keep the console.
He and I have PMing back and forth about what to do with it. Basically I'm thinking of doing this:
At the bottom the cig lighter will go along with a grounded AC plug, above that I'll re-locate the heater controls. Above that, I'll throw in one of these single din cup holders:
MG1 has suggested some things for me to do. So I'm gonna run with it. I'm open to input if anyone has any. Let me know if I'm dreaming on what I want to do.

Holy carp, Batman. That centre console reminds me of the one I had in my Civic.
When you get finished with it, it is going to look a helluva lot better than what that photo is showing, LOL.
Have you searched the wrecking yards?

Not my car. Google searched for the 94 Taurus cup holder installation to get a picture.
I think the switch is power windows. I'm not sure tho. Thats a 94 Civic coupe in this thread: Ford taurus cup holder install help in 94 civic ex coupe (pic) - Honda-Tech
Now that I look at it I'm not sure I'll have enough room. And even if I do the cup may be on too steep of an angle. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it though.
And no. I haven't hit up the wrecking yards. I'm not sure how likely it'll be to find JDM internals but its worth a shot.

Haha...yeah motorcycle guy was hilarious! Oh, and installerz wasn't failing you MG1, he was failing motorcycle asshat. LOL
I made a couple of suggestions to Tachy but nothing too serious was discussed. If you want me to build a nice face to go on the inside of the console then thats no problem. We can use ABS, wood, plexi (sprayed back from the inside looks tite yo!) and different metal brackets to make it all work nicely. If you wanna drop it off I can see what we can do with it.

I really wanted to point and laugh, but he looked seriously injured at the time. I guess his pride was hurt more than anything else.
