Cheap laptop

I'm looking for a laptop to give to a 10yo for her birthday, so I'm looking for a CHEAP laptop so I don't cringe when she breaks it, and she will.

I've found a bunch for sale under $300, yet none have a HDMI port. This is my only requirement, so she can hook it up to a TV and watch videos. If anyone sees a deal on a sub $300 laptop with HDMI please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

No preference for screen size or anything? If it's just a HDMI request:

Acer 10.1 AMD Netbook

Or this one is slightly bigger but it'll be a bit over your budget after taxes

Acer 11.6 AMD Laptop

Check out some of the Staples. A lot of them have old stock that sometimes drops under $300 and, with the number of store in GVA, there's a very good possibility some are out there, especially at the lower volume stores. They bundle it with setup, warranty, etc. to increase the price and make it profitable, but you're not required to take that stuff. Staples head office was very adamant about not turning away sales before I left in August.

I just picked up the Acer one 722 and it's a great little computer, so I'd suggest that.

My budget is before taxes, so both will do.

I wanted to stay away from 10" netbooks just cause I personally don't like the screensize, its just too small, yet the 11.6" might work.

The 11.6" screen is really nice, also, Future shops description of the Acer laptop is incorrect. It says that the resolution is 1024 x 600 but it's in fact 1366x768, so it's really nice to work on.
