I have a dark circular spot in all the photos that I take with my Canon Point and Shoot. It's more evident against a light background. I tried wiping it off with a lens cloth, but it's still there. Any solutions?

probably dust on the sensor. Try shooting into a lightbulb and see what you get.

take two shots, one zoomed all the way out , the other all the way in. does the spot change size?

Hmmm.....looks like you have multiple dust specks on your sensor. How old is the camera? If it's still within it's warranty period, I'd send it in to get cleaned. This is very unusual for a point & shoot camera though...I've never seen dust on the sensor of one before.

Do you have any info on what settings the camera was using for the two shots?

from what i've read : If it changes size when zooming, it is not, repeat not, on the sensor.

^^^ They "changed" size because the aperture gets smaller on typical P&S lenses as you zoom in and the dust specks get more defined making them look smaller.

i guess the bottom line is it's in a sealed device, and a bitch to get at.

It's a few years old, so I don't think it's in Warranty anymore. I was just using the regularl Automatic setting.
