So many people claiming to have a car that will beat the Bugatti's top speed record. Yet none have done it yet.

I thought bench racing was something conducted in online forums, not in press releases by manufacturers.

If you recall, Bugatti never said a single thing about the Super Sport coming out or predicting what its top speed would be. They only announced it after they broke the record. Unlike all these wannabees trying to drum up interest by making wild predictions before they even hit the track.

The yellow car doesn't even have mufflers - from the turbos the exhaust exits straight out the back (completely open pipes). The silver car has mufflers in place where the straight pipes would usually go, but there's no cats.

How can a car that's not even street legal (emissions legal) claim to hold any records for anything?

If you look at the dyno test run and the acceleration videos they were made with the yellow car with the open pipes.
