lol, It's not so much of having that "seam" at the mouth area, but if it's on the side, coffee seems to always leak out from there.
Every time I buy coffee now, as a habit, I always remove the lid and reposition it so the "seam" is at the opposite end of the mouth area.
So when I drink, the coffee level never rises on that side.


Also, on those "peel back" lids, I always fold in the corners (at the rim) as well, cause it pokes my lips when ever I drink.
