FuuuuuUUUUuuUUuuUUuuuu

I did a "dangerous action" at the beginning of the test and automatically failed. Is this always the case or does it depend on the examiner? He trolled me by not telling me that I had already failed and went ahead with the entire test and said I did a good job lol. Has anyone else ever failed? and do you book the next test in two weeks or do you come back in 2 weeks?

At the end I was like :okay:

did u find out what was the "dangerous action" ... perhaps didnt shoulder check??? you didnt do a full 360 degree check of ur car? or didnt know ur car?
the examiners dont tell ur mistakes during the examine unless they like u. if u have good peripheral vision, if u see if their writing something long, most likely uve failed.

1st time i failed was i forgot to shoulder check to pull in but other than that everything was perfect...
passed flawlessly 2nd time.

just one advice.... always shoulder check.

Pretty bad since it was pissing rain at the time I tried to turn left on a two way street and didn't see an oncoming car. Instructor said "Whoa whoa". Learn't my lesson though...

He put a mirror on my windshield too and it distracted me.

Helga
09-26-2011, 12:49 PM
lol he's suppose to for his safety and his way to check his rear... its not even a distraction... so if u come across a bird shat on ur windshield, ure going to b distracted by that?

When I took that test back in the olden days of way back when, it was pissing rain for me but I got a perfect pass.

Remember you have to be extremely cautious on your road tests and at the very least pretend to have your eyes looking everywhere. The examiner will put a mirror on your windshield to watch your eyes and see if you are looking.

lol i failed my class 7 once, got dangerous action too, depressed the shit out of me, from what I heard some ask you if you wana continue even if you failed just for practice, but in my case they didn't tell me till the end, you usually know you fail when they say something like "watch out" or in your case "whoa whoa", but went back 2 weeks later passed and was happy, site should update so you can book it by tonight or tomorrow, and if there's no time for 2 weeks, check everyday cause people always cancel

When you take your road test.. Take your damn time.. It doesnt matter how fast you finish the test, these examiners are on a timed basis. If you have to sit behind a left turner do so.. Kill as much time as you can.. They have 30mins to test you before having to go back.
I heard a story from my instructor, that one of his students had a test during huge traffic time, basically the student passed because he only made like 10 turns during the whole exam because of waiting in traffic.

The test is pretty damn easy.. always do a 360 whenever you leave a parked spot. Also shoulder check when signaling and turning. Always stop at stop signs and red lights. And keep to the speed limit. Also when they take you into 30 zones mention it.. IE when he says turn left here and you notice you in a 30 zone just say "oh okay were in a 30 zone now" then you instructor will know your a competent driver cause you can spot out the hazards.

I know lol but it was the only date for me at the time until December.

Every day when you wake up in the morning search for new dates, within two-three weeks you'll be able get a new test most likely. That's what I've always done.

The reason they don't end the test if you've committed an automatic fail is because it gives them the opportunity to access the full range of your driving skills and identify all the areas where you need improvement, giving them the opportunity to fully prepare you for the next test. If you did a good job your probably not far off passing, good luck with round two!

I also failed for a "dangerous action" on the first try. Got passed because I was going too slow down a hill that curved left. Any DA is an auto fail. The person evaluating you won't tell you at any point if you have already failed, this is for their own safety in case some kid freaks shit.

Passed with flying colours my second try. I felt shitty after I failed though, it seemed like all my friends were getting their N's. If you really want to get your class 7 ASAP, go into the ICBC branch and tell the person at the desk you want to wait for a road test. If someone doesn't show up for theirs, you will get their slot. A few of my friends did that.

I was late to my Class 5 test, and had my slot taken. I took the test 10 minutes after.

Also I failed my Class 7 once because it was foggy and raining shit, i was going 45 in a 50 zone. Everyone else was going no more than 50 and the guy failed me because I was going TOO SLOW.

The tips people give you, ie: 360 shoulder check, during the test. Do that sure, but after you pass please fucking continue doing that, please.

Other than that, good luck on second attempt

I thought I failed my first try because I was never asked to parallel park. Thought that was weird, other then that test was easy and simple. I was told that if you fail they simply ask you to park the car, whereas if you pass you gotta reverse park into the stall.

It differs by evaluator. When I passed, the guy said he knew I was a competent driver so I was allowed to just pull into a parking spot.

BTW, parking accounts for a very small part of the test, you really can't fail it overall even if you park like a fucktard.

Still got a pass because the only "dangerous" thing I did was a lane change that might have been a bit tight @ my current skill level.

To answer part of your question, you have to rebook, not show up.
When I did my test, i just drove with "better safe than sorry" in my head.
I didn't turn if I felt even if the oncoming car was a reasonable distance away, checked my mirrors whenever I could.

Yep, show them what they want to see. Shoulder check + rear-view mirror check religiously, even if you're not switching lanes or turning. They won't be satisfied with a quick glance and will fail you. Also pay attention to your speed, yield when you have to/can and don't yield when you have the right of way, like left turn arrow. A failure to yield will most likely fail you. An unnecessary yield will only give you a warning. And don't ever try to overtake a bicycle/scooter by swerving.

I was failed once and was told "you drive like a normal guy driving on the street but this is a road test, not normal driving".

Like somebody above said, the tip is to waste time. Stay in the right lane at all times except for turning. Do not attempt to overtake.

School zone/park zone is easy. Every time they tell you to make a turn from a main road, scan for school zone signs.

My Dad's an instructor and has always told me in the past that the road test is not normal driving, it's more like a performance. Yes you drive like a granny but the key thing is to show how you can drive safe.

Just a tip to all those who are about to take/having difficulties with the road test, remember everytime you touch any signal light, perform a shoulder check. Make sure you exaggerate the shoulder check too, as if you're checking for ants on your shoulder or something. Shoulder check early before making a right turn. And if your going into reverse, perform a 360 degree check before moving at all.

You, or your dad hit bang on. It's smoke and mirrors basically. For a motorcycle license, even more so. You have to overemphasize the things you do. You're not going to 360 degree check THAT often in real life but you certainly will do it on the test to SHOW that you know that you're supposed to be doing it. Similarly, we shoulder check left and right on our motorcycle road test EVERY TIME we move from a stopped position; regardless if you're pulling out of a curb or going forward after stopping at a red light.

It's all about what you can show and prove to them that you know and it's your job to make sure you're able to. You distract them with positive things rather than let them dwell on negative things that you're doing.

I've heard a different reason. Think about this, you're an instructor in the vehicle with someone you don't know, and you're at the mercy of what they do behind the wheel. If they know you've failed them right away, bad shit can happen to you.

The reason I've heard this is cause someone in my high school kicked the instructor out of his car on a country backroad. He knew he fucked up, so he just said fuck it and gave the instructor the boot. This would be nearly 20 years ago, so no cell phones, and butt-fuck-nowhere rural Ontario.
