k fellow rs'ers, i need some expert advice on this dilemma
i have a bmw 530i e60 (2004) and someone wants to trade me for his 2002 e46+apparent 9 grand worth of mods, and atleast 500 dollars on top,
heres my car:
http://www.revscene.net/forums/652311-fs-2004-alpine-white-bmw-530i-e60-extras.html
and heres his car:
Trade my fully loaded 2002 BMW 325ci+Mods for your 2004 BMW 530i E60 (http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bnc/cto/2628618502.html)
his car has 134,xxx compared to my 150,xxx
we've already tested each others car so i know everything about it already
his car has ac schnitzer body kit, carbon fibre roof and interior, good condition inside and out, fully loaded, rims, k&n intake, lowered on forgot what brand of springs (but no struts or w/e).
the way i see it--
pros: nicely modded, hes going to throw in installed angel eyes and performance chip for me, works at bmw so half off parts and can find him for service or any problems in the future, added cash, and i wanted to sell my car anyways
cons: my car in my opinion is just as nice if not nicer (as in cleaner), its a 5 series, ill miss the luxury of a 5, his car has some mods im not a fan of such as the led rapid turn signal, and some dings and scratches here and there
ill appreciate ur serious advice and opinion,
and thank you all in advance!
I'd stick to the E60. You'll miss the better fit-and-finish of the newer car, plus the features.

Modded older car or clean e60? You seem to want the mods but I'd go for your car stock over a 325ci.

+1 or E90 325i
mod should never count 100% toward the sales price, and the modded parts on this car don't look too expensive unless they are all authentic stuff, but still, the trade is a major downgrade.

E60
Mods don't justify its value. The market does.

E60
A young kid owns it, which means it's likely been abused and it's lowered on stock struts which is another major strike against the car.

no man.. the 5 series is way nicer car then the 3 series.. unless its an M3...
keep the e60, think about it this way, the guy doesn't like his modded e46 anymore so he wants yours which is nice and in good condition. If it was a e46 m3 then, hell ya but anything less than yours, NO. I'd regret the trade if it was me.

steve we dont get half off bmw parts only like 10% off at most, and yes thats correct he is in service wash lot staff, car is decently modded. don't know anything about how well it runs or maintenance of the car tho. Personally I would just cuz I am not a huge fan of the older 5 series

VW owners and fan boys get no say. Your opinions are the least credible of any. Go get your coil packs ready.

That car has been listed on craigslist for a looong time, he has made a few different posts trying to trade it for whatever. Id stick with your 5 series

I was just trying to point out to OP that the guy won't really help when the car needs service nor would he get half off on parts.

unless the 3 series was a ZHP/m3, it doesn't make sense money wise!

If I can have only one car, the E39 M5 is as good as it gets. I have a E60 LCI M5, it is awesome, but it is a big luxo boat.....

e39 M5 handles similar to a E92 M3. The E39 feels relatively light and agile Vs E60 M5. The E60 M5 handles pretty good for a 4100lbs car, but it doesn't want to change direction mid corner. You take your line and stick with it. You just can't toss around a E60 M5.
