Those little green worm larvae hanging from trees have been sticking to my clothes, hair, and cars every time I come home. Feel like a ninja trying to see and dodge them. Fuck it's so annoying. Does anyone know what I am talking about? What are they? :heckno:

They're hoping to land near your ears so they can crawl in, and nibble your brains.

They're harmless. They feed on the tree leaves and in the fall, bury themselves under the soil where they go through metamorphosis and emerge in the spring as moths.

If it's the same little bugs I'm thinking about, if they land on your car they'll cocoon on it. Scraping them off isn't fun.

I remember dodging them when I need to go to classes in the Forestry Building in UBC. You only see like half a second before u hit them.

The little green worms hanging on a silk thread from Oak trees are basically harmless – a nuisance but harmless. The little green worms feed on Oak Tree leaves.

and then do what most caterpillars do – form a cocoon and then turn into a moth.

But as nuisance pest (as opposed to a lethal pest) they are a very bothersome creature - clinging to clothes, cars and bushes they invade our homes and vehicles as hitch-hikers.

The problem is the wind! The wind dislodges them from their lofty dining rooms in the trees and they hang suspended in midair by a thin silk line. As you walk through the area the silk and worms cling to clothes and skin. The other day after spraying a yard, I picked a half dozen or so from my clothes!

Best Advice: This too shall pass! Allow the worms finish their life cycle and soon they will be gone.
