When I was pouring cereal out, and a chunk of blackish object came out of the bag, inside the cereal. It is fairly disgusting and obviously I stopped eating it. Should I get it tested?

OP, how close was the picture taken?

You can most likely trace it back to the cereal if you get it tested. Whatever it was obviously got mixed into production at the factory, I'm pretty sure whoever manufactured the cereal can pin point the exact date, time and production line the cereal was packaged from the information you find where the expiry date is located.

I think it's a chunk of compressed ingredients that came loose from one of their processing machines or something.

It's probably just like bran, flour, brown sugar, and whatever all crammed together.. but still disgusting to have that fall out of your cereal box.
