? about trading rims across the boarder

in a few weeks I am meeting up with someone in the states to trade rims plus cash on their end for my rims.

has anyone else trades with some on in the states before? I have only bought and sold before never traded.

how is the boarder is I am crossing one way with rims and coming back with a different set. Do they frown on it or do they just don’t care. I will be going through the Nexus line so I donno if that makes a difference or not.

Any info on this would be great

Trading is basically selling then buying.

Get him to write a letter stating that it's used and the value of it just in case.

Just say you are going Snowbording to Mt. Baker. They will assume you just switched to your snow tires while you were down there.

Seriously though, if you even have to ask, its probably not a good idea going through Nexus. Unless you're prepared to have them kick you out of the program for 5-10 years for $50 or whatever the duty would have been.

Go into the office, and ask them exactly what you need to do if you want to be on the up and up. Otherwise, use the regular lanes.

do you honestly think they will take a mental picture of your RIMS and then remember them when you come back? do you know how many thousand cars go through the border everyday?

They don't know and wont care if you traded them. What the care for is the value being brought back. In which case you will have to tell him exactly how much theyre worth so essentially (your wheel cost + the cash amount) is what the wheels youre bringing back are worth. Nexus or normal line up wont matter. I was told by another RS member you can verbally declare items instead of using the TDC (Traveller Declaration Cards).

I guess it's called being honest. CBSA is not dumb. I'm not sure if when they take pics of the plates front and rear it's a wide enough angle to see the whole car but thats just another risk to take. If OP gets busted thats 5 year mandatory search with a full tear down of the car most likely.

Nexus members tried smuggling goods: Report - News1130

There's always the chance of getting caught, small maybe, but it's there. Some of the guys are pretty attentive; friend of mine nearly got screwed over by a cherry tomato, of all things.

Just tell them it's your spare set and you're going to test fit tires with it.

Do you honestly think your posts on lately revscene have been contributive?....

It's pretty relevant considering the fact it has some sense to it.
