| 07 Yaris w/ immobilizer wont start - HELP
My gf's yaris was parked in our garage for 3 months, the battery died. We took out the battery and charged it at home with a wall plug. It worked and we were able to drive the car for 3 days without a glitch. So this evening, went to get an oil change and for some reason it wouldn't start. We replaced the battery with a new one and it started it up again. However, it you turn the car off and wait for 30 minutes or so, the car would not start up again unless you take out the negative connection to reset the battery.
also, it seems like the car is having a hard time reving up to 3000 RPM.
Any ideas as to what's wrong? the battery is brand new.
Thanks

your immobilizer and your rough running issue are two separate issues...
i think you got battery issues first... get that battery tested... and then after you get the car running again, you have to drive it for a little while for the ECM to relearn the idle and shifting patterns...

i agree with narfy the car has to learn every time you disconnect the battery. you need to properly diagnose the no start condition. for example the immobilizer will kill the power to the starter motor.

hey benR!! didn't know u were on RS...
the immobilizer will disable the ECM from allowing the engine to run... fuel and spark, i believe... the engine will still crank...
so if your car doesn't crank, but your lights go dim, it's either battery, or starter...
