My best friend from HS started working for them in NYC... but he can't divulge anything
He is always posting his meals and pics from the Google campus, damn they treat their employees well. Unlike steve jobs who treated everyone like shit. I would really like to visit them some time!
My cousin just quit from Google, and I had the chance of visiting him while I was there... their kitchen is basically a AYCE buffet with dishes that changes from day to day.
But I think working in Google is very different than anywhere else.
I'll quote something my cousin told me "at other work, you think why am I working with a bunch of stupid people?. In google, you think why am I so stupid?"
Watch some of that change when they are no longer on top. And let's face facts, there is always some company that is getting ready to change the world, and make you irrelevant.
It's easy to give out free lunches and throw money at sustainability when you have billions rolling in.

Was unaware of Chrome remote desktop, that's awesome

And google is WAY more diversified at this current moment than any of those companies were at their peak. I'd almost daresay than all of them put together, but I think IBM has some crazy stuff in the closet. They are laying down FIOS to a city, google wallet is going to become a beast. I think Apple might have missed their chance with it, or at least will be off to a very slow start.
This is a warning video about how bad google could be, but I think it illustrates my point about just how much coverage they have in any different industries. The world is driven my information now, and google knows pretty much everything.
For the most part, I love Google as a company and the products they make. Not taking anything away from the other companies. Most of the products they make are pretty useful, I like that they take a lot of every day tools and improve them immensely. Starting from the search engine, to the browser, maps, etc...

Chef Abroad had a special about the Google cafeterias. Worth a watch if you have time. Probably not hard to find on torrent.

lol ibm and microsoft make more money than google, what a terrible example. i see what you mean though - all companies will have peaks and bottoms..this is obvious though, its the nature of business. treating your employees well in the process and having a good triple bottom line will not harm you, rather it will prolongie your peaks and shorten the bottoms.
