The amazing life story of Xinjiang native Emeti just got a bit more fantastic – with the announcement of the 116-year-old’s fourth marriage.
Emeti, who said the secret to his ultra-long life is “positivity,” has also apparently been fabulously lucky in love.
His first marriage began in 1928 and lasted a whopping 44 years, though it was beset by numerous difficulties, including the death of all the couple’s seven sons and eight daughters in their infancy, due to what Emeti described as “the harshness of life.”
Three months after his first wife passed away in 1972, Emeti wasted no time in remarrying, though his 60-year-old bride was already past childbearing age. That marriage ended a decade later.
"We just weren’t on the same page anymore,” Emeti said.
Never one to look back in anger, however, Emeti married his 50-year-old third wife six months after ditching the second.
That union, though far more successful than the previous stint, still succumbed to the winds of time when the wife died just this June.
Again, however, Emeti proved that age ain’t nothing but a number, successfully wooing his fourth wife, 52-year-old Arzugul, after meeting in July.
"At first I had to admit it was very strange to be courted by a man over twice my age!” she said. “But I know he’s the man for me.”
Emeti said that throughout his expansive existence on this earth, he’s never touch a single drop of alcohol, shred of tobacco or lost his temper once.
"I exercise everyday and have eaten a single raw egg every morning since I was seven,” he said.
