Android LCD TV, could it be a PC replacement?

I usually stay at my parent's place about 1-2 nights every week, there's a HTPC in the family room, but they occupy the TV almost 12 hrs a day. In my room, I need a TV and a thing that I can go on the internet, don't really want to spend too much on a whole system. A friend recommended me this...24" android LED TV, $240cdn, with LAN port and support mouse and keyboard.

Not quite familiar with android 2.2, could this be a PC replacement? Like word processing, pdf converting, simple photo editting and other simple office task?

I've never heard of this before, but from the looks of it, its just another laggy Chinese gadget.

Whether you like to tinker or not, wait for that Raspberry Pi computer to come out and pair it with a nice big monitor. $25-35 little flash drive sized computer that can run on a lightweight distro = win. I'll let the link do the talking (in case you havent seen it before)

Raspberry Pi | An ARM GNU/Linux box for $25. Take a byte!

Edit: a more convenient link, the wiki

I can't comment on this Pi gadget, haven't read any reviews on this yet, it could be as laggy as those Chinese devices, who knows. I do see android TV box around for $100, a lot of pros and cons, if android could help me do all the simple daily tasks, then I should say goodbye to PC.

oh right, I have a N470 sitting at home, that would work. What screen resolution can an atom run?

Should output like 1080 just fine for desktop apps. If your watching videos though I dunno if it'll drive 1080p. Depends on the video card. It should drive 720p just fine though.
