Anybody know someone that can repipe my house? Or at least how much it would cost?
I found a leak in one of the Ground Floor suites, and just found out that it's Polybutylene. I replaced the Tee with new crimps, but I'm not sure how long it would hold up for.

The house is about 20 years old, and we've lived in this house for about 15 years. This is the first leak that I've found, and fixed myself. But there has been other leak repairs done in the house. I've only had to re-solder a few pipes in the last 5+ years.

I mainly want to do this because matching stipple ceilings are a bitch and a half. Drywall is no problem. I'd rather rip out the walls and re-do all the pipe instead of fixing little patches here and there.

So has anybody done this and know how much it would cost?
Or does anybody know a good plumber to re-pipe this?
I know that there was a Class Action Law Suit for Polybutylene Pipes, but I don't know if it was a US only thing or not. And I have no idea if our Home insurance would cover re-piping.

I'm not going to lie...this shit ain't cheap :) My last bathroom was $1200 tax included. That was removing the old copper, installng pex and I had him install a new bathtub as well that was a bit of messing around.

Sounds like you are handy, so the main area where you can save is on prep. Have the walls open when the plumber gets there, so he can shut off the water, start removing the old pipes and install the new ones right away.

I did some quick reading, and there was a class action suit in Canada. Not sure of any further details or its funding or statute of limitations.
