: Where do you go to for your dentist?

So I'm planning to find a new dentist because I feel like the one right now isn't that great.:alone: Any suggestions? I might get braces soon so I'm just looking for opinions. Please share! If it's in Richmond (and relatively inexpensive) that'd be even better:alonehappy:

I go to Dr. John St. Jermain, in the Oakridge medical building.

edit: I missed the 'inexpensive' part. Lol, good luck finding a cheap dentist. And if you do, i would be very hesitant.

Thanks for your input guys. I just don't think my dentist is that great, some procedures he did on my teeth turned out to be quite "shoddy" and I follow everything he says.

A couple other ratings on this site say the same thing too

Dr. Kenneth Fung - Richmond, BC Dentist - 5 doctor reviews | RateMDs.com (http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/75523/Dr-Kenneth-Fung-Richmond-BC.html)

I don't mean a cheap dentist, just one that is worth your money and you won't go :fuckthatshit: in the future.

Good grief if it's the one on Fraser and 49th, I had my braces done there as well. Amateur as I had to constantly go out to UBC to have another orthodontist check on their work.

Also did a great job in replacing my temporary crown every once in a while when I broke a portion of my tooth crashing into a truck on my bike; No problems whatsoever

She was the dentist that turned me around for check-ups. Don't get me wrong, I still fucking hate going to the dentist but at least when I go to her, my gums don't look like they went through a meat grinder.

If you want a dentist for braces ... I had horrible, horrible teeth back in high school. I went to a dentist in Langley called Dr. James Findlay even though I live in vancouver. If I recall, he was around half the price of local places. His office is newer, some pretty hot staff members (at least back when I went), win win situation lol. I guess because he's all the way out in langley he can afford to charge you much less.

My regular dentist for checkups and stuff is Dr. Otto and Weaver on the corner of 57th and knight, across the street from mcdonalds.

If you're super poor and you feel like risking your life, go to the dentist at the vancouver general hospital. It's in the new building. Extremely cheap, but the staff is recent UBC dental graduates so you're going to be in the hands of a bunch of 20 somethings who are probably still hitting the books at night.

I went to get my wisdom teeth out at the green Dental Clinic in richmond next to Chapters and close to Ebisu on No3 RD. He took SO much care and didn't charge me when I went back because one of my bones was cutting through my gums aka he had to cut me again to grind it down, but for FREE. Also if you pay by cash instead of debit or credit, its 10% OFF Sooo I suggest him :) Don't remember his name tho

Dr William Rosebush on West Broadway used/still does clinicians @ ubc great, caring doctor; been seeing him since i was 10-12 i haven't needed anything other than cleanings and recently my first cavity :okay: but he books months (4-6) in advance and is always busy never heard complaints

i couldn't tell you about prices though since my parents and i have always been insured and for any heavy work they would go visit a relative and get the work done by them for free

I hear the harvard dental program isn't great and i hear the equipment they use is considered old the only value behind it is you can tell ppl you went to harvard (cousin got his dental @ tufts but did his residency under harvard; subsequently taught there)

so don't let that deceive you

I went there ever since I was a kid as well. Honestly I haven't gone back to him for the last 6-7 years. Other places do a much better job and with better comfort. I didn't know this till I went to another dentist.

I went to Metroplex Metrotown a couple times. Staff is kind and they do good work. Got TV's for every chair. Lots of high-tech equipment. One of the more expensive places imo. I'm trying to find a new dentist now.

When I live in Sask when I was a kid they would send us every year to a bunch of dentists like this. It was like a Province wide program where the school system paid for it and it was fricking brutal. Bad enough going to the dentist as a kid but getting sent to a bunch of butchers who were just learning was redic thinking back.

Dr Houchmand in Burnaby, on Hastings street (North Burnaby Dental).

I've been going to him for years, he has performed dental surgery for me and my family.
He is very knowledgable and skilled and makes you feel comfortable. He is also very fair with pricing, and his staff are courteous and professional. The place is clean and professional as well.

I highly recommend his office. A nice touch is that even though they are very busy, when he sits down to talk to you it rarely feels like he's rushed, and he actually takes the time to answer your questions and make sure you understand everything.

And reading what I just wrote I know it sounds like an ad, but I'm being serious. Can't remember their number, look it up on Google. Good luck!

Dr. Horng is Continental Center does Invisalign - my brother has them right now.
I would say, if you are a very forgetful person and is quite lazy... don't go for it and stick with normal braces.

works well for my brother - took care of his misaligned teeth nicely, he has another 2 months to go before the end of his treatment and already everything looks in place and all lined up.
