We do have a thread for this............
anyway, Acklands Grainger has it in their catalog.
Search for FET411D https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/AGI...arch/doMisc.do
Price is high, but if you have account there, it is reasonable.

If you're into those Ryobi Tek4 tools, Home Depot is blowing out most of their stock, including the laser measurers - I've seen them going for $40 with battery and charger.

Not a big seller, I guess. I've seen them on display at Home Depot. Looked like decent stuff.

I played around with the Ryobi one a bit, it seemed to be decent quality, but it didn't compare to the quality of the Bosch or Hilti laser measures I was comparing it to. I ended up going with the Bosch, two years of heavy use later it's still going strong. I used the Hilti for about a year, it was good too, got beat to shit by idiot crews, never broke.
I bought my Bosch at HD, they keep them behind the pro desks.

I've looked at the Bosch DLR130K entry level one before...
... but it doesn't have 2 points triangulation feature. Fluke 411D is in the same price range for around $120 and it has that feature, although with a lesser range. Of course, the best is definitely Leica Disto series.
It cost around $500!

Looks like it has "indirect measurement using 2 or 3 auxiliary measurements" and back light too! I'm gonna check out Home Depot tomorrow! Thanks.

When I was doing archaeology I bought one a Deakin Equipment (Vancouver and North Van). It was a binocular/laser distance measure combo.....depending on how far you need to shoot it.
Depending what you are shooting at...it isn't always super accurate.
If you are just needing it for shorter distances, hd/rona/lowes, etc.

BC Fasteners should carry them
105-5037 Still Creek Ave
Burnaby, BC
(778) 330-2602
Home Depot, I'd be surprised if Canadian Tire didn't carry them as well.

I bought an acoustic/laser measure thing that's somewhat accurate up to 25'. It was like $50 at HD. Depends on what you want to do. I was using it for quickly measuring rooms for flooring and painting and lets face facts...to look cool in front of clients.
"Yeah, let's take some quick measurements, take out my 24th century starfleet measuring tape and boom!, done."
I would prefer it to be one laser point and no acoustic, but I don't build by it, just buy by it.

I went to Home Depot after work. The guy pointed me to the hardware aisle and found a sonic one. He then tried to Google it for me, and found nothing. (When he Google, my post on RS was actually the 2nd result.) Just as I was about to go he remembered some clearance stuff off to the side and THERE IT WAS!
$80 each (original $159.99) and $12.99 for another extra lithium-ion rechargeable battery, because by next year I will probably not be able to get replacement. Except for back light, it has every function I need.
There's a few left at the United Blvd store, get one while you can guys!
Cheers~

My coworker and I have actually been eyeing the Tek4 line since they came out - we do mostly smaller work, so they're really nice, compact tools, and having the shared lithium battery pack is an attractive idea... but they've always seemed overly expensive. Until a couple months ago, when Home Depot in Canada decided they weren't going to carry them anymore and started blowing them out. Some stuff is still full price, but some of the deals are insane: the 1W LED flashlight, for example, is stupidly bright, and selling for $10 if you can still find them (marked down from $20). They have a wicked little magnetic utility light that can be had for $7. The multimeter is a great one - I have several, but this one is really nicely padded, AND has a backlight (none of my others do) - they're going for $44 (marked down from close to $100). The best deal is the dual-battery quick charger, with one battery, going for $20.
Great thing with the bigger tools, once you deduct the cost of the battery (normally $12.99 on its own) and charger (another $13.99 by itself), the tool itself gets REALLY cost-effective.
I was at the Park Royal Home Depot today and they had 7 batteries left, so I bought them all Figure after a while, as the batteries start to fail, they'll be difficult if not impossible to replace, so I want to get as many as I can.

You have a potential client watching you, waiting for you to get your stuff done, and out of their house because they have 2 more guys waiting to do the same thing.
Stand in a corner...bleep bleep...next room.
