I'm looking for a present for my grandfather. Looking around I see threads for watches, wallets and etc. Does anybody know much about nice pens?
I was thinking about : Montblanc Meisterstuck Platinum Plate Hommage 5029 W.A. Mozart Fountain Pen (http://www.jomashop.com/montblanc-meisterstuck-hommage-5029.html)
Anybody have hookups anywhere?

ur best bet is to look on ebay for reputable dealers
but there are quite a few good shops in vancouver for pens with similar pricing as you can find online, i like Perks Pens (http://www.perksperks.com/) when i shop locally << on Cambie great lil shop and prices etc
if you use the search you can find a few threads discussing the local shops etc
if you want to shop around online you can check out this site too Fine Pens, Ladies & Men's Watches, Mont Blanc Fountain Pens, Longines Watches | WorldLux.com (http://www.worldlux.com/) (its in seattle) they've usually got coupon codes online that you can find
Pen Boutique | Fine Pens, Writing Instruments | Montblanc pens, Mont Blanc Pens, Cartier pens, Cross pens, fountain pens, Rollerball Pens, waterman pens, parker pens, pelikan pens (http://www.penboutique.com/)
Fountain Pen Specialists established 2000: The Writing Desk. Fountain Pens and Fine Writing Instruments, Fountain Pen Ink, Quality Stationery and Premium Writing Accessories. (http://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/) << usually get my ink from there lots of options great prices
Im not a fan of Mont Blanc imo you can get nicer pens @ that price from Pelikan / Faber-Castell but a lot of ppl know MontBlanc so i guess they do make for good gifts :) i got my bff a starwalker when he became a realtor and it looks rather nice (with that "floating" logo on the tip)

first of all, be sure that you're getting something the person wants and something he will use.
fountain pens are expensive and they are a bit more maintenance than a regular pen. I actually did a lot of research and got the John Lennon special edition for my dad. 1) he doesn't like a cap on his pens and 2) he doesn't like fountain because he prefers to use it daily therefore 3) ball point was the only way to go.
anyhoo, ebay was a great choice and online US shopping is great. good luck.
