Hoping some members on here grew up in the East Van area/attended Britannia Secondary School as its after school Homework Club program is in danger of not being able to continue. The Homework Club is a program where students can go to get help from volunteer university tutors for their homework.
"Leary says it is unlikely that most Britannia students would have anyone in their circle who'd attended university.
"That's why it's important they meet young people who are at university. The tutors are providing a window into a world our kids can't imagine," she said.
Apart from free tutoring, the club provides fruit for snacks but Thursday is Bread Night and the menu is bread topped with Nutella, peanut butter and jam. It draws the biggest crowd of the week.
"We find students will bring their younger brothers and sisters and we see them taking food and hiding it because they are hungry," she said."

You can help them get a shot at getting some funding by voting for them on the Aviva Community Fund competition.
